This position is responsible for building a solutions-oriented team of Operations employees that can provide customers with the necessary service required to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales and profitability objectives. The geographical territory for this position includes all of Texas and Oklahoma and Western Louisiana with depots in Houston, Beaumont and Dallas.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Establishes, assigns, and adjusts work methods and procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of capacities and capabilities of depot personnel
  • Insures technician's daily activities are scheduled
  • Performs regular depot audits, to insure quality equipment repair and testing. Communicate with Technicians regarding improvements or areas of concern
  • Oversight and management to ensure timely and accurate depot purchasing, booking, invoicing and collections process
  • Financial responsibilities include collecting quotes from vendors for parts or repair options and communication with Area Manager concerning Best Fix Options
  • Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget
  • Assist sales department in selection and application of proper equipment and accessories for complex rentals.
  • Provides technical support to the sales department, both at the depot and job-site visits.
  • Engages directly with external customers and vendors when a conflict or issue occurs
  • Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, engineers, and others concerning equipment operations or maintenance
  • Initiates measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and quality of work
  • Inspects work in process to insure its completion within allotted time limits and for acceptable quality standards
  • Conducts formal operations meetings on a regular basis
  • Ensures fleet readiness, accessories and spare parts inventories are at acceptable levels and that equipment fleet, accessories are accurate and up to date in the systems
  • Reviews all written labor documents on a regular basis
  • Directs and guides the lead service techs to prioritize labor hours on a daily and weekly basis


  • Promote the importance of the EH and S program to all direct reports
  • Insure all requiredinspections, training, and requirements of the MAP (Monthly Activity Plan) are completed on time; Review MAP regularly throughout month to insure it is complete
  • Maintain customer required site specific EH and S training for technicians


  • Promote the importance of Ethics program to all direct reports
  • Provide guidance to the Rental and Equipment Coordinators in the application of their duties such as: order entry, arrangement of freight services, job file management, booking, invoicing, collections, purchasing and maintaining of information tracking logs.
  • Identify employee development and training needs for sales and operations personnel
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and set objectives
  • Interview and hire talent as needed
  • Manage employee relations and performance issues
  • Improve employee engagement based upon periodic survey results


  • 10 years experience in an industrial environment with P and L responsibility
  • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment and the rental industry is definitely preferred
  • Strong leadership skills required
  • Strong computer skills required
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Some travelrequired


  • Bachelor's degree in Business or technical field preferred
