What does a great Release Manager, Staff do at Fiserv?

A Release manager job function works collaboratively with all participants in software development lifecycle including product owners and project managers. You will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across Digital Channels. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing and managing releaseprocesses for code through development, test, and production environments

•You will also work with IT management stakeholders to improve the software engineering process and practices associated with continuous build, deploy and updating software and environments

As a Release Manager, Staff you can look forward to:

•Interface with Fiserv internal teams across division to engaged in release management activities

•Implement and improve the release management process

•Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestones reviews and Release Go/No-Go reviews

•Lead and co-ordinate go-live activities including execution of deployment plans and check lists

•Participate in cross-platform CAB meetings to align release scope, status, interdependencies and/or roadblocksRelease Planning

•Maintain and publish a release calendar

•Understanding of release pipeline and potential environment limitations

•Deployment planning and strategy

•Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality

•Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations

•Produce deployment playbooks and implementation plans

•Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities

•Evaluate releaserisk and develop mitigation strategy with partner teams

•Governance of deployments in lower environments as part of the risk mitigation strategy

Operations support

•Continually work towards making improvements in the release process

•Partner with deploy resources to identify and implement automation opportunities in the deploy process

•Post release evaluation and operational improvement identification

•Weekly Release Reporting

•Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists

•Maintain and report release metrics

On-call support

•Provide occasional after-hours support to troubleshoot issues or execute deployment of Digital Channels managed services

Qualifications for Consideration:

Education:

•Bachelor Degree or high school diploma with equivalent experience

•Prior release management experience  

Preferred  Qualifications For Consideration:

  Working knowledge of online banking and mobilebanking services and processes

•Understanding of ITIL framework

•SDLC knowledge

•Ability to lead technical projects

•Basic knowledge of XML

•Understanding of basic security technologies

•Working knowledge of HTTP Servers (Internet Information Server preferred but other servers applicable) – (1 to 2 years)

•Working knowledge of SQL Server

•Must be a motivated and focused individual

•Ability to develop necessary documentation for external support organizations

•Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in a methodical fashion

•Must have excellent organizational and communications skills

Travel Required: up to 5%
