As a member of Santander’s retailbanking division you’ll help serve Santander’s retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits.  With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander’s retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals.  Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2% of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank. 

This position is responsible to proactively call on Middle Market and Large Corp. size companies and institutions.The goal is to create and develop relationships with these organizations and, through this relationship, gain access to their employees to present the retail bank menu of products and services.

The Santander at Work Relationship Manager sends business to the Network as well as Phone, Online and ATM channels. He/she is in charge of implementing an annual plan with the companies in his/her portfolio; this plan includes a combination of activities like financial seminars, participation in new employee orientation, participation in benefit fairs, placing ads on the company newsletter, establishing a Santander at Work link at the clients intranet, signing employees up to our Financial Education newsletter as well as other workplace events and marketing channels. 

The Santander at Work Relationship Manager is also responsible to coordinate the staffing and execution of employee events with local retail leadership.


  • Work closely with Vendors and internal bank partners
  • Develop in depth knowledge of applicable bank regulations for testing areas
  • Manage relationships with existing vendor and internal partners to insure the Santander customer receive simple, personal, and fair treatment
  • Work closely with vendor relationship managers and bank partners to insure proper execution of vendor services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners
  • Present any test findings to senior level management
  • Proactively suggest improvements in testing scripts and protocols
  • Assist the partnership team in evaluating potential bank partners

  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in external sales calling on business clients. Retailbankingexperiencepreferred. 
  • At least 5 years of professional experience.
  • Ability to identify, partner with, and coach qualified team members to represent Sovereign at Work at employee events.
  • Ability to manage client relationships, including conducting business reviews, introducing new products and promotions, presenting financial education seminars, and selling additional program services.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the development of well written proposals for Corporate BankingRFPs.
  • External sales skills. Experience in engaging and selling to senior level / executive decision makers.
  • General business and retailbanking knowledge.,Microsoft Office; basic market research skills using the internet.
  • Duties are performed both in an office environment and outside an office environment.
  • Physical demands could involve any or all of the following: digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in the operation of office equipment; light to moderate lifting (10-20 lbs.) and carrying of supplies, files, etc.
  • The ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees both telephone calling and in person.
  • Body motor skills sufficient to enable the incumbent to move from one office location to another.
  • Local travel and use of own car is required (80% of the time is spent outside the office).
