The Role

Apply industry knowledge to assess and solve client problems and develop trusted advisor relationships with clients over time. You will also contribute to client service, retention and profitability by providing support on specific client projects.



    • Provide technical consultation, expertise, and support on client projects and participate actively in developing solutions to meet client needs

    • Assist in completing a variety of actuarial projects

    • Lead and manage selected actuarial projects

    • Meet with clients and internal staff as necessary to review project results and deliverables

    • Provide reinsurance program advice

    • Assess reinsurance structures and recommend for structures to meet client objectives

    • Assess reinsurance pricing

    • Participate in client reinsurance program objective setting meetings

    • Provide ongoing reviews of the performance of existing reinsurance programs and meet regularly with clients to review their program performance

    • Assist in the development and enhancement of Willis Re Life and Health Actuarial Tools

    • Tools to support pricing analysis, reserving, stochastic modeling and financial modeling

    • Assure that tools are properly coded, tested and documented

    • Work closely with other Willis analytical and Life and Health segment associates

    • Be an active participant in Life and Health segment client teams

    • Interact with other actuaries, catastrophe modelers, rating agency advisory, ERM and capital markets associates

    • Achieve personal, professional development goals and maintain required technical credentials

    • Meet Society of Actuaries’ requirements to become an FSA

  • Once FSA is achieved, meet SOA continuing education and other requirements required to remain a member in good standing

The Requirements

  • ASA, near-ASA or recent FSA
  • 6+ years of experience in Group Life or Disability related actuarial role(s)
  • Pricing and Product Development experience
  • Ideally including experience with reinsurance programs
  • Knowledge of Medical, Dental or other employee benefits is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders of different levels
