Stamford Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Reimbursement and Revenue Cycle Manager. The Reimbursement and Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for the completion and analysis of the Medicare, State of Connecticut (Medicaid, OHS, etc) and other third party cost reports and reporting requirements. Responsible for reviewing, maintaining relative system, payer and internal issues that impact the revenue cycle. Responsible for month end close process pertaining to net accounts receivable. Work closely with patient business services to review, revise, adjust and reconcile proration rules and other patient service components. Work closely with patient business services to troubleshoot certain patient accounts. Work with 340B team providing specific financial support, data maintenance and reporting.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 3 years’ working in a hospital accounting or finance department; or 5 years’ non hospital experience in a financial related position; or a
Bachelor’s degree in Business with a CPA, CMA or FHFMA affiliation and 3 years’ working in a hospital accounting or finance department; or 5 years’ experience in a financial related position.
Required Experience
Experience and/or reasonable/advanced knowledge of Medicare cost reports; Intern & Resident reports; OHS annual report; OHS Twelve Month report
Experience and/or reasonable/advanced knowledge of hospital Chargemaster and hospital revenue cycle
High level of literacy with computers and simple database management, including prior experiences importing & exporting data files.
Hospital experience preferred:
Demonstrated abilities using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (vlookup, hlookup, linking files, formatting tables), developing and reporting from MS ACCESS databases; prior exposure to hospital reimbursement principles and cost accounting software is a plus; experience with Meditech software is a plus; ability to work unsupervised under tight guidelines and due dates; with high attention to detail; ability to analyze, and critically appraise, and communicate.
