SMBC is seeking an Associate to join our Regulatory Reporting Analysis team. The core responsibilities are to prepare regulatory reports in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare regulatory reports submitted to the Federal Reserve Bank and other regulatory authorities with primary focus on FR 2052a Complex Institution Liquidity Monitoring Report.
Support monitoring of data quality and reconciliation standards.
Being subject matter expertise on the FR 2052a data. Develop a thorough understanding of data sourcing for all entities and familiar with the products that being reported, including but not limited to derivatives, loans, leases and securities financing transactions.
Collaborate with other team members to identify ways to streamline and automate process flows.
Support interpretation of regulatory instructions for the scope of regulatory reports.
Involve in projects in related to data quality improvement and business process enhancement.
Communicate with other stakeholders such as other subsidiaries and IT department for any requirement changes or issues.
Prepare variance analysis before the submission of reports.
Prepare and maintain policy and procedure manual.
Support ad-hoc requests
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Understanding of U.S. Basel III rules/regulations
CPA is a plus
5-7 years of experience
Strong analytical skill and problem solving skills
Ability to work under time pressure and multi-tasking
Strong computer skills with experience in data analysis
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
Knowledge in SQL
Experience in Vermeg RegReporter application is a plus
