POSITION SUMMARY: The RN is a professional caregiver who assumes duty and responsibility for a collection of assigned patients in a home placing, rendering professional care in accordance with the health practitioner/issuer remedy plan and the nursing system of assessment, analysis, making plans, implementation, and assessment. He/she will be able to characteristic as a member of the Interdisciplinary crew (IDT), offering case management, addressing bodily, psychosocial, and spiritual elements of care. The RN is a scientific practitioner who coordinates and implements affected person care precise to the population served.

HOURS: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday

EDUCATION: Current Maryland nursing (RN) license and thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Bachelor of Science preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in a medical/surgical or home care setting required. Previous hospice experience strongly preferred.

SKILLS: Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated emotional maturity and ability to cope and work effectively in stressful situations. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to work effectively on an inter-disciplinary team. Excellent customer service philosophy and skills required. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in computer skills; All Scripts preferred. Demonstrated understanding of and concurrence with the hospice philosophy of palliative care.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs safely.

LOCATION: This is a field position, servicing patients in the Prince George's County area.
