Position Summary:

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who performs patient assessment, develops, implements and evaluates effectiveness of an interdisciplinary plan of care for patient populations with various diagnoses. Maintains professional standards of conduct and ethics as outlined in department expectations and professional organizations. Provides education to patients, families, caregivers and other health professionals. Assists in the supervision of other staff members, students and volunteers, as appropriate. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patients'/caregivers' rights, as identified within the institution.

  • Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
  • Professional caregiver who performs patient assessment

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications RN Experience:
  • Six (6) months of Emergency experience as a Registered Nurse, required. May consider two (2) years of experience in an acute care hospital in lieu of emergency experience.
  • Qualifications RN Transitional Experience:
  • One (1) year experience in acute care, sub-acute care, rehab setting or urgent care center, required.
  • PALS within 180 days of hire, required. Transitional: within 180 days.

Licenses:

  • Current California RN License, required.

Certifications:

  • Current BLS required upon hire; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.
  • Current ACLS required upon hire; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider. Transitional: within 90 days.
  • PALS within 180 days of hire, required. Transitional: within 180 days or when orientation completed, whichever comes first.
  • NVCI within 90 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first, required.
  • NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of hire, required.

Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.
