The Regional Director will provide leadership over a region of Iron Mountain’s Secure Destruction business lines within North America R&IM and will lead the leadership teams within the region to create a customer focused environment to accomplish the goals, strategies, plans and policies of the organization. Operating within Iron Mountain’s core values, the Regional Director will provide the leadership and management necessary to ensure that the Secure Destruction Business line has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight - Responsibility for regional revenue and EBITDA. Oversee the creation of business plans at the territory and market level to achieve budgeted financial objectives. Ensures that the territories are effectively planning for and deploying appropriate resources in conjunction with the defined R&IM Strategy for essential initiatives such as, Real Estate, Creep, Revenue Leakage, Cost Reduction and Price. Ensures efficient and effective operations of the transportationnetwork within the region. Ensures correct pricing and structuring of new and renewal business and maintaining appropriate aggressiveness and growth rates.

Employee Development/Workforce Leadership – The Regional Directors partners appropriately with Human Resources to educate and develop key field talent with an eye toward long-term workforce planning. Leads change management within the SD business line. Oversees the leadership development programs at the Manager and Area Manager levels. Ensure Iron Mountain’s core values are upheld throughout Secure Destruction by providing necessary leadership and focus to the frontline workforce, paying special attention to turnover and other key indicators. Foster and promote a positive work environment for all employees.

Merger and Acquisition Leadership – The Regional Director has a view to growing the business through acquisition and “Tuck In” activity in order to achieve SD M&A goals. Partners with the Director of Integration to ensure seamless integration of new business to Iron Mountain.

Account Sponsorship – Provide Senior Level leadership to ensure that field operations have partnered with Sales/Account Management on sales opportunities and are removing obstacles to expedite revenue generation. Develop and maintain key external relationships with trade associations (i.e. NAID), customers and competitors. Develop and maintain relationships with top customers in market (strategic, multi-city and large Local).

Teaming/TCS – Provides leadership and oversight to ensure the effective forming and fostering of key relationship/teamwork within the Area between Operations, Sales, Account Management, Marketing and other business lines as needed. Provides senior level leadership in driving Account Management/Customer Service initiatives and ensuring objectives are being effectively implemented and executed within the territory.

Safety, Operational Excellence, Standards & Compliance – Ensures that the region is adhering to the company safety and security standards at all times. Provides leadership and management to ensure the effective development and execution of territory level tactical plans for TCS and Operational Excellence in order to achieve budget goals and deliver appropriate levels of quality service to customers while ensuring operational efficiency and productivity. Through the Transportation Managers, Plant Managers and Area Managers, ensures that the desired standards of consistency are met throughout the Business.

Qualifications

Business Expertise:

  • 10-15years experience successfully managing/leading in a Matrix Management Environment

  • Extensive P&L experience

  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills

  • Previous experience managing substantial client accounts, developing client relationships and maintaining a high degree of client retention.

  • New business and renewal pricing and modeling

  • Budgeting and forecasting

  • Continuous Improvement in chain of custody methods, routing and service delivery

  • M&A sourcing, diligence, integration and implementation

  • Proven ability to develop and implement business strategy that has a lens 2 to 3 years out

  • Ability to collaborate across the organization

  • Ability to lead teams and create a positive culture throughout the organization
