POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Regional Sales Manager - West is responsible for achieving branded sales objectives for the West Region in the Grocery and Natural classes of trade. Collaborating with the Sales and Marketing management teams, the Regional Sales Manager will develop and implement effective trade-related programs that drive their success in the market. Together with the National Director of Sales, Retail, this role effectively manages brokers and coordinates distributor programs and oversees key retailer relationships in the West region.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Co-develop withSales team and oversee implementation of an annual sales plan.
  • Provide annual sales and expense budget forecast; monitor actual performance vs. budget, adjusting plan as needed to reach their sales and profit objectives.
  • Updatesales forecast as needed to provide real time forecast for their procurement and production planning.
  • Manage tradepromotions and trade-related expenses for defined region.
  • Oversee all broker activity within defined region: drive high level of broker performance utilizing established their broker management tools, conducting frequent ride-along with broker reps, and establishing and monitoring broker objectives.
  • Manage key retail and wholesale relationships to develop promotion programs, shelf management systems and general troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate salesevents and regional distributor shows; work withsalessupport staff to meet administrative requirements. Attend National Trade Shows as requested: assist with coordination of booth set up/tear down; manage trade show activity time to maximize booth duty and key account meetings and events.
  • Coordinate new product introductions with brokers, distributors and key retail accounts.
  • Report all personal and trade-related expenses for company reimbursement; submit timely monthly report detail to accounting department.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must life in the greater Bay Area.
  • 3+ years of proven success in CPG sales, with a focus in natural and conventional channels of trade.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a sales manager in the natural product industry – experience managing a network of brokers preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Work usually performed on the go or in a customer setting.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds on a regular basis (demonstration samples).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak to and hear customers and/or employees via phone and in person. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

5. Any experience in Private Label?

7. Ability to work autonomously and cross functionally within the organization

9. Experienceworking with and using syndicated data (SPINS, IRI, Nielsen, etc.) for fact based sell-in during customer meetings

11. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
