We are currently seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join and be part of our pro-active and growth driven culture. This position supports a rapidly evolving and highly innovative division of LORD. The position of Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned West Coast Region, preferably based from a home office in either the Southern California (Los Angeles, San Diego, Anaheim, Santa Barbara) area; Pacific NW (Seattle) area; Utah (Salt Lake City) area; Colorado (Denver) area; or Arizona (Phoenix) area. He/She is responsible for establishing time and territory plans, prospects and manages key account relationships, and manages Field Sales Engineers in territory. He/She is also responsible for achieving new product development through securing customer orders.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Remote position
  • BS/BA degree in Engineering with 5 to 8 years of technical sales/field engineering sales or sales program management experience (or equivalent) having direct customer contact and responsibilities
  • Experience in instrumentation, selling sensors, or other highly technical products and familiarity withAerospace and Defense Market.
  • Prior experience/responsibility for key national or global accounts or indirect channel selling, dealing with multiple levels of decision-making and influence
  • Manage, grow, and expand sales in the assigned markets to meet or exceed annual plan
  • Manage business with existing key accounts and expand business into new platforms
  • Compose value propositions for complex business opportunities and bring prospect to closure
  • Successfully penetrate new account targets in line with the Global strategic intent for the market segment
  • Use of CRM, preferably Dynamics, monitors and manages customer contact
  • Expectation to know and stay current with all competitors in the assigned markets
  • Computer proficiency, with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and capability to learn internal computer systems SAP, BI, IDWeb
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone and presentation skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to translate customer requirements into viable technical solutions, identify and quantify the value of collaborative customer solutions for customers
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
  • Expectation of 30-50% travel or more, being in front of customers
  • Valid driver’s license & the ability to operate a motor vehicle

NON MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience with pressure transducers, load cells and temperature sensors and/or MEMS based Inertial sensors and Wireless sensor networks
