Our client is a global conglomerate, based in the US, who offers a diversified portfolio of industrial products with a global leadership position in the Industrial B2B space. As part of their continued growth, they acquired a well-established European Industrialmanufacturer and will be introducing its new product family to the US.  This is a high quality product offering with a well known brand reputation. They are seeking an entrepreneurial, hunter sales manager with a history of growth to join the team and spearhead the US launch. The role will focus on revenue growth through establishing US distribution., the development of new distribution partners and supporting industrial filtration membrane applications with end users. Additionally, the position will focus on growth by prospecting for new business, through direct sales efforts with end users.

This is a home office-based role with national travel so living close to a major airport is important.  

The ideal candidate will be a change-agent who is results-driven and comfortable creating and establishing a brand in the US. A background selling into industrial verticals such as waste water, pulp and paper, and food and beverage is ideal as you will be launching a membrane filtrations system brand that is used in liquid separation. A degree in engineering or a track record of success selling a complex engineered product (mechanical, materials and/or chemical engineering success) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Substantially grow the revenues of Industrial Filtration products & services to current and potential distributors and customers within North America.
  • Set and meet aggressive sales targets designed to achieve double digit growth on an annual basis
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals for North America
  • Direct annual sales forecasting and annual sales budget for assigned territory and establish specific action plans to attain agreed upon targets.
  • Develop Distributor acquisition and development strategy for launch and establishment of a new brand of products.
  • Develop and maintain strong distributor partners to serve customers within assigned territory
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific customer targets for new business growth and implement these action plans.
  • Gain share from competitors by highlighting the value proposition and by differentiating the company's products and services via a superior customer focused approach.
  • Lead the sales funnel management to ensure proper visibility of opportunities and that opportunities are advanced through a rigorous countermeasure process.
  • Actively drive and manage site trials, technical evaluation and sales stage of the sale process
  • Responsible for winning and undertaking site trials, conducting trials to collects data. The data used to create application/engineering designs that meet with the customers need and expectations so that products are selected as the product of choice to secure sales.
  • Ensure a level of customer service that is differentiated from the competition
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers, through managing and interpreting their requirements.
  • Travel to project sites to perform start-up, integration, and training services.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms and conditions to meet both customer and company needs.
  • Stay abreast of key competitor actions and their implications or threats to the business
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets customer needs.
  • Help in the design of custom-made products.
  • Travel- 50%-65% (will include some international travel)

Experience Required:

  • 5-7 years' experience selling a technical product into verticals such as wastewater, pulp/paper or food and beverage
  • Experience working with national and regional industrial distributors
  •         Bachelor's Degree (Chemistry; Chemical Engineering; Environmental Science) or equivalent experience        Ability to close OEM and End User opportunities
  •         Proven track record of successfully increasing revenue at level substantially above market growth levels on a year over year basis.
  • Chemical and/or Engineering application experience in fluid filtration/ process, or adjacent industries.
  • Experienced in site trials/sales/contract skills
  • Excellent business acumen and a proven track record of implementing change
  • Effective verbal, writing and listening communications skills with strong negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of successfully increasing territory sales volume

Experience Preferred:

  •         3-5 years' filtration sales experience
  •         Knowledge of membrane filtration systems
  • Chemical and/or Engineering application experience in fluid filtration/ process, or adjacent industries.
