Summary of Position:
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) creates and executes on a growth strategy for their region, positioning McCrometer’s metering solutions across various Municipal applications utilizing value selling, relationship building and channel management to originate and close opportunities. Skills include opportunity funnel management, key account planning, negotiation and channel management.

The role is responsible for strategic sales targeting large customer accounts with multiple influencers in their assigned geographic region. This position will be responsible for promoting the company’s flow meter products, accessories and services.

Preferredlocation of the RSM is the Mid-West. Candidate should reside within close proximity to a major metropolitan city and metro airport. Working from a home office, this highly autonomous role requires strong business acumen, planning, and the ability to execute strategically.




Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

    • Participate in sales activities including customer site visits, telephone contacts, email correspondence, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations/evaluations, customer seminars and channel management.

      • Provides specifications and product selection from customers to Quotation team and/or Project Managers.


      • Provides sales and technical support to customers and channel partners (manufacturer’s representatives or distributors).


      • Follows up on quotations submitted to customers.


      • Renders technical advice or service on product applications, and conducts training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of products.


    • Evaluates performance of channel partners and reports results to Director of Municipal Sales on a quarterly basis following analysis protocol as provided by McCrometer.


    • Maintains good will of customers and acts as liaison between customers and company.  


    • Actively manages and updates opportunities in the CRM (SFDC) as required by the company.


    • Maintains a commitment to teamwork and a positive, supportive attitude to all personnel.


  • Collect and report information on all competitive activity.


Other Responsibilities and Functions

    • Performs other duties as required.


  • Observes and complies with all safety regulations and company policies


Education and Experience:

    • B.S. in Engineering or Sciences preferred.


    • Five years outside salesexperiencerequired, ten years preferred.


  • Municipal flow and or instrumentation experience a significant plus. 


Direct Salesexperience as well as management of manufacturer’s representatives and distributors ideal.

Skills and Competencies:

    • Willingness to travel up to 75% of time. 


    • Must have a valid driver’s license, and a driving record, that is acceptable to McCrometer.


    • Knowledge and use of personal computers, and common business software (MS Office).


    • Prior use of a CRM tool to manage relationships and opportunities. Use of a plus.


    • Excellent organizational skills.


    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to present complex or difficult messages clearly and persuasively.
