Regional Sales Manager Convenience Retail/Alternative Channels (West)The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for making direct sales calls at retail headquarters within the Convenience Retail and Alternative Channel segment. This position is focused on growing and developing existing as well as new customer volume and revenue sales. The position is responsible for effectively communicating strategies and tactics to drive overall category growth for our customers. A strong background in Customer Management within the Convenience Channel is preferred.

Detailed Description

  • Achieve/exceed regional sales performance goals (24pk eq cases and revenue)
  • Achieve/exceed regional price performance goals (Price Goal Index)
  • Achieve/exceed regional forecasting performance goals (Actual Sales vs. Adjusted Forecasting Goals)
  • Solicit new business in designated region to achieve annual goals, must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to close new accounts.
  • Drive case and revenue organic customer growth
    • Develop and manage mutually agreed upon annual account plans
    • Quarterly business reviews with customer category management teams
    • Define specific broker goals and expectations
    • Manage all account specific trade funds
    • Work with internal marketing team on specific programs and company initiatives
    • Develop promo calendar with optimal dates and holiday timing to grow volume
  • Effective communication to the retailer the “Niagara” strategies and tactics to drive overall category growth
  • Account penetration and relationship development
    • Goal is to develop close personal relationships with customers.  Attend large scale charityevents, store grand openings, etc.
    • Facilitate plant tours with top customers
  • Build strong/trusting relationships with other key department personnel
    • Collaborate ideas and thoughts proactively to achieve common goals
    • Work closely with Sale Development Manager to grow business at each account
  • Achieveforecastinggoals for accounts managed
    • Manage month-to-month forecasting process
    • Work closely with Retailers and Brokers to align forecast goals

Work Experience/KSA’s

  • Required:
    • 7+ years  – Years of account management sales experience (in field)
    • 3+ years  – Years of experience in supervising employees

                *experience may include a combination of work experience and education

  • Preferred:
    • 10+ years  – Years of Private Label Consumer Packaged Goods sales experience (in field)
    • 5+ years  – Years of experience in supervising employees

  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook
  • Oral communication – speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations; demonstrates strong presentation skills
  • Background in Sales Leadership Training

  • Minimum Required: 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Management/Finance
