Basic Function:

This position is the leader of a sales team comprised of account managers within their region.  This leader is accountable for achieving regional sales and profitability goals. This role provides direction and leadership to the sales staff and is responsible for the customer satisfaction and market share within the region.  Downstream experience is required for this role.

Principal Duties:

Leadership and management

  • Represent Tidal Tank in a positive and professional manner in and outside of Tidal Tank

  • Execute Sales strategy as outlined by management

  • Work with all sales reps, operations and outside contacts to satisfy clients and achieve goals

  • Identify business opportunities within the region and work with the sales reps to secure business.

  • Identify and investigate growth opportunities for the company with customers

  • Provide constructive feedback to direct reports

  • Instruct, train, mentor and manage account managers and sales reps

  • Meet or exceed growth targets for region

  • Provide guidance to the direct sales team and improve overall salesforce within given region

Responsibilities:

The regional sales manager is responsible for ensuring that:

  • Develop attack plans for prospects and close business

  • Maintain M&E, Business Promotion expenses for assigned region

  • Submit rates, approve quotes and negotiate regional rates

  • Lead weekly sales meetings or calls with direct reports

  • Work with sales director, and corporate account manager to deploy account plans

  • Ensure that all information is accurately maintained in salesforce.com

  • Assign leads to direct report reps

  • Be prepared to provide reporting detail to the director of sales on monthly revenue accounting, forecast and activity

  • Promote a positive sales and service team

  • Collaborate with Branch and Operations Managers to ensure customer’s needs are being met

  • Meet assigned targets and assign , manage and evaluate the work of direct report account managers

  • Adhere to a proper business work ethic and create a similar expectation of reports/ peers.

  • 8+years of business experience overall in a market leading energy and/or energy related business(es)

  • Experience managing a sales team

  • Strong functional proficiencies

  • Sales, marketing and customer analysis

  • New business development activities

  • Sales strategy creation and assessment

  • Sales training development including CRM (salesforce.com)

  • Demonstrated ability in selling to corporate level accounts

  • Undergraduatedegree in business, sales or marketing a plus

Reporting Relationship:

The Regional Sales manager reports to the Director of Sales.

The following positions report directly to the Regional Sales Manager: Account Managers, Sales Reps within the assigned region.
