Job Overview
The Regional Product Manager (RPM) is directly responsible for leading, within their region and in collaboration with the GPM (Global Product Manager), the product strategy, planning, launching and delivery of the volume and profit targets for the products under their responsibility. This includes product roadmaps, product positioning and value proposition and product lifecycle management. The Regional Product Manager builds, together with GPM and their RPM peers, a foundation of knowledge to support the market sizing and sizing of Amcor opportunities for all products under responsibility. The role is commercially oriented, responsible within the region for driving performance vs. targets by building product knowledge in the sales and marketing organizations, directly supporting key customer interactions and ensuring execution of commercial activities to drive sales. The role must consider both short and long term product objectives and ensure a close linkage to overall company objectives.

Principal Accountabilities
Product Strategy
- Collaborate and input to the strategic product plan for all products under responsibility the regional perspective, including market analysis, customer, consumer and competitor analysis, product propositions and positioning and managing roadmaps for both long and short term timeframes (Strat plan and Annual Operating plan)
- Contributes to (with marketing team or others) insight and analysis work to identify and quantify market / segment opportunities and Amcor opportunities within region and inputs to overall global picture
- Build the foundational value proposition for each product (together with GPMs and RPM peers as well as with inputs from the region)
- Identify regional longer term product needs and requirements providing inputs to GPM and R&D and developing product road map needs and portfolio analyses. Develop business cases as required for stages of development and investment
- Gathers, consolidates and shares (with GPM, R&D and all relevant teams) product needs from region
Achievement of product sales, geographic deployment and contribution objectives
- Partners with the BU teams to establishthe regional product sales, growth and margin targets as part of the annual operating plan, and supports the BU teams in achieving the goals
- Monitors regional product performance against targets by utilizing product specific reports and dashboards allowing fast transparent access to product information at the level of detail desired
- Sets value based pricing principles together with GPM and RPM peers working with commercial teams based on expected value delivery to customers and positioning relative to New Business Agreement (NBA).
- Monitor and manage region product P&L from start up to maturity and end of life
- Maintains effective communication of product status, performance, progress vs targets and profitability to all relevant teams / functions
Commercial leadership
- Manage for the region and in collaboration with GPM and RPM peers, operational product planning, forecasting, monitor launch progress, track and share KPIs and reporting on product(s)
- Lead development and dissemination of a short to mid-term tactical plan for the region ensuring a well structured pricing/value grid of offerings based on good segmentation. Ongoing monitoring to ensure the plans and execution yield progressive sales and margin growth
- Refine segment specific and overall product value propositions based on market experiences to strengthen and continuously improve product positioning and increase regional relevance
- Train the regional sales, marketing and other teams on product knowledge, product value proposition and selling approach in collaboration with GPM and RPM peers
- Actively involved in customer meetings, primary focus within the region, to act as the product subject matter expert with customers, support closing deals and secure direct customer input
- Plays a strong leadership and evangelist role within the region to drive organization alignment and support for the product(s) and their potential contribution to Amcor ; build a public profile to promote Amcor’s portfolio and innovation externally
- Active participant in the Product Management Forum, collaborates with GPMs and RPM peers to coordinate product portfolio together ensuring a consistent rationale for product positioning, value pricing across the entire portfolio
- Model Amcor’s values in all internal and external dealings, exhibiting desired behaviours and approaches in all business activities
Product Management
- Lead launch excellence process, planning, execution and tracking within the region for all products under responsibility
- Coordinate regional capacity and supply chain management from launch to steady state, executing guidelines for cross BU-BG transfers and supply allocation
- Monitor competitor activities, announcements and product launches and consolidate inputs from all BUs and share across regions and with GPMs
- Manage product roadmap execution working closely with R&D, monitor for changes in business conditions that necessitate adjustments to the roadmap
- Input regional needs to R&D for the future evolution (Generations) of each product under responsibility incorporating real time inputs from BUs and customers and building into future product roadmaps
- Monitor and manage, together with GPM and RPM peers, end of life cycle for products under responsibility, organize and coordinate product proposition adjustments and phase outs
- Establish and drive strong processes and governance for products within and across BUs
Cross functional
- Demonstrates leadership and builds highly collaborative relationships within the BU teams and across all key functions within region (incl. senior leadership, R&D, sales, marketing, GKAs, customer service, quality, operations, support teams, etc.)
- Leads cross functional teams within and across BU to ensure successful product introduction and expansion to meet targets

Qualifications/Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor degree, MBA in Marketing a plus
Experience:
- Experience in working in a Multi-national Corporation (MNC) environment, ideally packaging or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing industry
- 5-10 years of experience in some or all of Operations, Marketing, Engineering or R&D
- Strong results track record of success in delivering a well grounded pipeline of product launches, meeting growth and profitability targets and growing business through excellence in product management
- Experienced effective communicator in front of senior audience level
- Wide negotiations experience with focus on driving growth
- Known for supporting strong customer partnerships
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviors
Strategic as well as tactical, the Regional Product Manager is flexible, persuasive, analytical and collaborative. The Regional Product Manager is motivated by creation of well grounded product propositions and achievement of targets.
