The Challenge:

The Regional Marketing Manager is a key partner and consultant to our Independent Operator community and the Grocery Outlet operations and sales team that supports them. This individual will work to ensure that Independent Store Operators have the training, tools, and resources required to create and execute successful local marketing plans and programs.  They will also be responsible for the marketing support of grand openings.  

 

What is expected of you:

Create Tools and Resources

  • Create sample local marketing plantemplates for use by Independent Operators in marketing their stores
  • Teach and coach local marketing planning and execution to Aspiring Operators in Training (AOT’s)
  • Manage the process (intake, oversight, reporting) for marketing support requests

 

Relationship Management and Communications

  • Develop and maintain favorable business relationships with new and existing Independent Operators to increase engagement with local and community marketing
  • Act as an expert consultant on all matters relating to local store/community marketing
  • Ability to influence/coach/develop the IO in Marketing Strategies that they should be focusing on
  • Partner with training team to develop training programs for local store/community marketing
  • Partner with the marketing communications team to contribute marketing content on the Grocery Outlet intranet site
  • Partner with public relations team to develop and distribute media alert templates for use by Independent Store Operators

 

Reporting and Metrics

  • Establish a routine capture of Independent Operator marketing activities
  • Prepare and distribute regular reporting on local store marketing activities and best practices

 

Brand Protection and Education

  • Drive usage of and adherence to the Grocery Outlet brand style guide
  • Coordinate with corporate marketing and creative services for the production of marketing materials needed by operators
  • Work collaboratively with Operations to ensure successful execution of brand initiatives

 

Grand Openings

  • Execute grand opening activities that achieve Pro-forma sales levels within budget
  • Lead marketing efforts in the opening of stores with Independent Store Operators
  • Train Independent Store Operators on the grand opening process
  • Order and build marketing pallets for each new store to include marketing materials
  • Work with internal Marketing team to deploy New Store Marketing strategy
  • Support the IO in executing their Facebook countdown page, email acquisition and Facebook like campaign do you currently do this or is this Luke and Kelly?
  • Execute grand opening store marketing activities on budget and on time.

 

Community Involvement

  • Develop in-store events that create excitement and drive trail and loyalty to the local Grocery Outlet store
  • Develop content for fliers and other outreach materials, as required
  • Coaching and support Independent Store Operator in local store community marketing efforts to ensure achievement of sales and customer count targets
  • Monitor and report results of marketing/promotional programs executed at the store level (i.e. coupon redemption, average ring, zip code tracking, etc.)

 

 What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degreerequired, preferably in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or related field
  • Minimum five years of experience in Marketing, Field Marketing, and/or organizing and delivering training programs with increasing management responsibility required;
  • High aptitude for looking at problems as opportunities, then working with others to create unique solutions to solve them
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to work with and maintain long-term relationships with operator community, stakeholders, and team members.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to juggle multiple, demanding tasks simultaneously and with accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate with otherinternal departments to create a positive company-wide team effort for regional marketing programs
  • Must be willing to travel
