Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking a Regional Managing Director who is responsible for the leadership and implementation of actions to complete business plans, milestone plans which will aid in the achievement of corporate and regional goals, objectives and strategies.
Essential Functions:
You will have primary responsibility for new sales, persistency, and margin achievement for assigned and developed Managing General Agencies and General Agencies. The Managing General Agencies or General Agencies may develop into private label offerings but the essential purpose of this role is to identify, develop, and manage general agent distribution organizations.
This position will directly influence the retention of these "alternative" distribution channels. A key area of responsibility for the incumbent is in the development and execution of business plans with specific milestone plans which will lead to achievement of stated growth, and profit objectives. The incumbent will direct, manage, and implement special projects and key initiatives and strategies to increase sales and improve profitability.
Promote an effective sales process to attract high potential distribution partners, while maintaining strong relationship with existing distribution partners.
Ensure an effective on-boarding plan is prepared for new distribution partners, inclusive of:
Agent recruiting goals (if appropriate)
Production goals
Establish and agree upon activities by distribution partner and Security Life (i.e. webinars, seminars, promotions, etc.)
All sales requests should be clear, actionable, reasonable and delivered to help promote effective execution
CRM reporting considerations New Pipeline
Document appropriate sales activity within CRM system (Customer interactions, documents and other pertinent information)
Clearly summarize pipeline targets and maintain up to date status
Effectively communicate with and involve executive management in significant distribution opportunities
Ensure specific deliverables are maintained and tracked for each prospect
Provide effective requests (clear conditions of satisfaction and delivery dates) to marketing, product development, underwriting, finance and other functional areas. Provide insight and sufficient context to afford effective prioritization of all requests. Recognize effort upon completion of requests and make sure "by when" dates are maintained or re-prioritized (agreed to).
Terminate relationships that are not evaluated as worth an investment or not up to specifically established standards
Required Knowledge and Skills:
bachelor's degree, and should be willing to pursue higher levels of insurance industry designations (CEBS, CLU, LLIF).
5-10 years experience in the distribution of group insurance is preferred, including knowledge of dental and eye care markets, products, and administration.
Superior interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.
Handle multi-tasks and be an organized strategic thinker. The incumbent will need strong financial ability to grow sales results while managing profitability and persistency of in-force business.
