Description The Region Manager provides strategic and day-to-day leadership to assigned company and agent terminals. Responsible for a leadership team and the overall success of terminal operations located within assigned territory through managing P&L for each terminal, safety performance and ensuring standardized processes are followed as well as customer metrics are met. Impacts and delivers growth and capacity through terminal and owner operatorrecruitment and sales.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Primary duties include but not limited to the following:
• Driving safety improvement to achieve safety goals through continual monitoring of performance, promotion of safety goals, and reinforcement of policies including regular attendance at safety meetings by drivers.
• Working with company and agent Terminal Managers to establish and achieve annual sales revenue growth, capacity and safety improvement goals.
• On-going Profit and Loss management including conducting regular meetings to discuss areas for improvement and/or recognize areas of achievement. Work with Terminals to reduce accounts receivable, negative balances and maintain revenue levels. Liaison between the Terminals and Corporate departments to resolve issues.
• Ensuring safety awareness in assigned territory by holding safety meetings, investigating incidents, inspecting equipment and ensuring drivers and equipment meet Company and DOT requirements.
• Providing day-to-day management oversight of company and agent terminals that is driven by exceptional relationship management between customers, sales, drivers and vendor partners.
• Recruits, hires, trains, retains and manages performance objectives for Agent Terminals and drivers to meet service needs of the customers. Ensures agent terminal team members and drivers are trained and follow the company’s policies and procedures.
• Recruits, hires, trains, retains and manages performance objectives for individual team members to meet service needs of the customers. Ensures team members are trained and follow the company's policies and procedures.
• Ensures regional work schedules are properly established to expedite work flow. Sets proper performance metrics and ensures calls are monitored to observe employee’s demeanor, technical accuracy, and conformity to company policies and procedures.
• Provides guidance to Terminal Managers, assists in resolving complex issues and recommends corrective actions to address customer complaints, operational breakdowns and/or other concerns as necessary.
• Compiles, reviews, and acts upon metrics proactively to meet company standards and customers expectations. Maintains service levels with external and internal customers.
• Identify areas of improvement in operations and service levels for our customers, agents and owner operators.

Qualifications/Experience:
• Minimum 5+ years experience as a Regional Operations or Safety Manager in the transportation industry or equivalent experience and 3-5 years experience as a Terminal Manager.
• Strong Safety Experience to insure we are always in compliance.
• Ability to travel 33% of the time with some overnight travel.
• Proven ability to develop strong working relationships.
• Proven ability to manage and direct a staff.
• Knowledge of types of trucks and ancillary equipment used for transportation
• Must possess excellent oral communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking skills in a time-sensitive work environment.
• Computer proficiency required with experience using Microsoft Office products, focusing on Microsoft Office; Word and EXCEL.

Specific Requirements/Competencies:
This person must demonstrate superior decision-making skills in an extremely time-sensitive work environment on behalf of the Company. This person must also demonstrate confidence in making safety and operational judgment calls on matters affecting critical customer service issues.
