Purpose:
This is a revenue generating position who negotiates and contracts for product approval and pricing for all Midwest healthplans, commercial and Managed Medicaid as well as State FFS Medicaids for all AMAG products as well as being responsible for consistent growth of the utilization of the AMAG products by the payer.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, initiate, negotiate and manage profitable business relationships with assigned Accounts

• Work with internal cross-functional departments to bring the contracting process to closure

• Meet with C-Suite, Pharmacy and Medical management decision makers and Case management influencers at assigned accounts to identify opportunities, develop alliances and ensure customer needs are met

• Raise awareness of AMAG products and services, effectively communicating AMAG business strategy and value propositions within the customer atmultiple levels

• Develop and present educational information and contract proposals to assigned accounts

• Prepare responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and term sheets

• Initiate, negotiate, manage, and coordinate contract evaluation and implementation at assigned accounts

• Advance strategic customer relationships towards true partnerships through development of senior executive relationships and involvement between AMAG and accounts

• Identifies and drives new business activities

• Develops business with existing and prospective clients by serving as the principle contact for assigned accounts

• Monitor sales and rebate expense budgets for the assigned accounts

• Meets/exceeds revenue and profit projections. Monitors performance to sales to ensure objectives are met

• Create and regularly update Account Business Plans

• Assist the VP, Managed Care, National Account Directors and other Regional Managed Care Directors in development of MCO strategy

• Continually analyze competitive landscape and environment within assigned accounts to determine trends and provide customer feedback tomanagement.

• Raise awareness of customer imperatives and effectively communicate their business strategy and value propositions to management.

• Maintain an outstanding level of market, customerdistribution and product knowledge necessary to accomplish sales and marketing objectives

• Achieving Formulary Positioning and Access targets for AMAG products with assigned customers 
• Developing strong business-centric, collaborative relationships with customers, both internal and external

• Clear and timely communication of competitive threats, market or business changes to management and presents potential solutions to capture opportunity.

• Other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives

• Develops and implements strategies that lead to acceptance of the payer medical policy guidelines

• Attend conferences and appropriate state meetings as well as key physician meetings


Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with specialty products and/or devices, expertise in Women’s Health or Oncology markets preferred

• Positioning pharmaceutical products on formulary, and obtaining a positive reimbursement position

• Demonstrated success in negotiating, executing, and implementing complex contracts with multiple decision makers

• Demonstrated Payer experience with Medical Policies, Buy-n-Bill and Pharmacy formularies

• Network of decision makers in all business segments

• Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills

• Strong negotiation skills, business acumen, and analytical prowess

• Financial planning and budget management capabilities

• Self-disciplined, goal oriented and ability to manage individual projects and work independently

• Excellent working knowledge of Google, Gmail, and Microsoft programs

• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time including overnight travel


Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's Business/Science Degree requiredMaster’s/advanced degree preferred

• Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical sales/marketing management experience in any or all of the following areas: LTC, Pharmaceutical Field Sales, GPO, Government, Managed Care and/or National Trade Accounts, with a proven track record and established customer relationships with Women’s Health or Oncology decision makers.

• Minimum 2 years of direct line management experience in any of the following areas: Field sales, GPO, Government, Managed Care or national trade accounts, with a strong track record of success.


Preferred Qualifications:
