Job Introduction

The Business Relationship Management (“BRM”) function has the mandate to establish a close relationship between Global IT and the Group and the Divisions that they represent, and to increase the value realized by the business from IT assets,investments and capabilities. As such, the Regional Manager IT BRM needs to have significant understanding of and knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both IT and the Group and Divisions to identify regional IT needs and envision business solutions. The Regional Manager IT BRM is expected to work closely with the BRM team for the assigned Group in addressing Group and Division needs.

Major Responsibilities

•Drive common process and standards across the Divisions within the region.
•Work with the Global Director IT BRM to formulate and execute a relationship management strategy for the assigned Group and its Divisions.
•Build relationships with key business stakeholders within the regional Group and Divisions to understand strategic direction, operational needs, trends, constraints, opportunities, etc.
•Work closely with the regional leaders of the assigned Group and its Divisions to support them through technology planning, advising on how to exploit existing technologies, and ensuring alignment with the global Group strategy.
•Maintain a detailed knowledge of the key IT services, and manage and influence demand for IT services at the regional level, aligning Group and Division demand for IT projects and services within the IT portfolio, and with the Group’s global priorities and strategies.
•Assist with the prioritisation of change, particularly using cost / benefit analysis to proactively manage business demand.
•Maintain a high degree of visibility within the region, and attend regional Group and Division business meetings and appropriate management forums, providing a central point of information for all related IT activities.
•Identify opportunities for IT to better support the business and promote IT as a trusted delivery partner.
•Assist the business to form pre-project business requirements that are appropriate and adequate to satisfy both tactical and strategic business needs.
•Play a proactive role in defining service level needs.
•Ensure software legal compliance within the region.
•Oversee the technology program or projects delivered by Global IT in the region to ensure expected outcomes are achieved, including:
oReporting on status
oActing as a sounding board for ideas and approaches to solving project issues that have program impacts
oIdentifying and managing cross-project dependencies
•Advocate for the regional Group and its Divisions, acting quickly to manage urgent issues and championing them until resolution, escalating when required.
•Act as the voice of the regional Group and its Divisions to Global BRM.

Knowledge and Education

•Collegediploma or universitydegree in the field of business administration, computer science,finance, or information systems.

Work Experience

•A minimum 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles in industry.
•Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
•Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business processes and operations, along with the strategic use of technology to grow a business.
•Demonstrated program management skills, including planning, and controlling processes.
•Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
•Ability to understand and communicate/present detailed and advanced business solutions.
•Ability to communicate up and down the management chain, providing the appropriate level of detail and focus on the right information.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Transparency:
•Evaluate reporting requirements of the regional Group and its Divisions, direct and monitor communication and reporting.
IT Management Framework:
•Communicate IT management objectives and direction to the regional Group and its Divisions.
•Monitor and recommend improvements to IT processes, and maintain compliance by the regional Group and its Divisions with IT policies and procedures.
Strategy:
•Understand the strategic direction of the enterprise, and the regional Group and its Divisions.
•Assess IT's current environment, capabilities and performance.
•Working with the Global Director IT BRM, define the strategic plan and road map and communicate the IT strategy and direction to the divisions.

Innovation:
•Working with the Global Director IT BRM, assess the potential of emerging technologies and innovation ideas in relation to the Group and its Divisions.
Human Resources:
•Recommend adequate and appropriate staffing for IT in Divisions.
•Assist the division with the evaluation of the IT Managers annual performance appraisal.
Risk:
•Create IT risk management plan, monitor and respond to risks.
Programs and Projects:
•Review the program plan.
•Monitor and report on the program/project quality, risk, and outcomes.
•Close a program/project.
Solutions Identification and Build:
•Manage changes to requirements.
Changes
•Evaluate, prioritize and authorize change requests.
•Manage emergency changes.
•Track and report status of change requests.
Change Acceptance:
•Plan business process, system and data conversion.
•Perform a post-implementation review.
Service Requests and Incidents:
•Verify and approve service requests.
Business Continuity:
•Ensure divisions follow Magna’s business continuity policy.
•Test and improve the BCP at the divisional level.
•Conduct BCP training.
•Conduct post-resumption review.
Performance & Conformance:
•Set performance and conformance targets for process goals and metrics.
•Analyze and report performance against targets.
•Ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
Compliance with External Requirements:
•Optimize response to external requirements.
•Confirm compliance to external requirements.
•Other duties that may be assigned
