Regional Inside Sales Manager

Summary of Role

The Regional Inside Sales Manager will be responsible for executing a strategic sales plan for their respective region to an established list of customers, as well as development of new business opportunities. The position will be responsible for selling and marketing all categories of product produced by CROPP Cooperative, The Organic Meat Company (OMC) and Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative (OMSCo). The Regional Inside Sales Manager will collaborate with a number of departments and positions in an effort to increase sales while supporting program efforts for the aforementioned product types and commodities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

o Develop and execute strategic sales plan for assigned customers.

o Prospect, set up, and manage direct ship customers for all commodities; includes determining availability, forecasting inventories, negotiating pricing, and arranging freight/delivery of the product.

o Create and implement annual volume, revenue and expense budget for each assigned customer.

o Manage sales to supply and to revenue, expense and profitability budgets as set forth by the Cooperative and as established by supervisor

o Establish positive relationships with all assigned customers and manage sales of designated products per the volume budget.

o Responsible for sales execution, reporting, internal department coordination, and general account maintenance for all customers within assigned region.

o Communicate and implement all cooperative initiated price changes to all assigned customers by set timeline.

o Understand customers’ needs and objectives to seek opportunities for alignment and partnership.

o Study and utilize market data to assist in understanding trends as they relate to sales generally and for assigned customers specifically.

o Initiate new customer setup with Customer Service and manage customer information and opportunities using a CRMdatabase and other tools.

o Advise the Customer Service department on pricing, available quantities, shipping terms, and special customer requirements.

o Communicate short shipments, quality issues, price discrepancies, credits, and program changes to active customers. Process related customer incidents.

o Create and share various sell sheets and forms, including hot sheets and email blasts, for internal, external, and online sales.

o Run reports and maintain real-time sales data to effectively control inventory and sales order volumes.

o Report on assigned sales and communicate important program updates to Sales and related stakeholders.

o Work with Sales, Production, and Pools to move excess inventory through customers or donations, and contribute to future sales planning.

o Assist with product placement telemarketing and prospective customer intake.

o Follow up on inbound questions, such as store product complaints and inquiries/support requests from current customers.

o Maintain excellent customer and CROPP employee interdepartmental relationships.

o Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, trainings and by reviewing professional publications.

o Collaborate with all internal CROPP departmental teams to achieve sales objectives.

o Timely management of customer and work related expense settlements with internal CROPP departments.

o Attendance and participation in required sales meetings, teleconferences, and webinars

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

o Participate in farm tours, plant tours, and other related educational and marketing events as discussed with and assigned by supervisor.

o Attend onsite and offsite meetings as needed.

o Complete special projects as assigned by Sales Management.

o Travel and attend sales related events.

o Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

o At least three years of experience of customer service in a business-to-business environment.

o At least two years of experience in sales, preferably in food sales or natural products.

o Trade and negotiation experiencepreferred.

o Preferred knowledge of the dairy, meat or produce industry.

o Self-motivated and able to drive sales results.

o Demonstrated customer service aptitude.

o Ability to make outbound sales-related calls and process inbound calls.

o Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required.

o Ability to meet deadlines.

o Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.

o Ability to work independently and with a team.

o Ability to travel and meet with customers as needed.

o Strong computer skills required, including high proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

o Experience with a CRMdatabase and other customer management tools.
