AD Pro, Architectural Digest’s digital destination for design news and reporting, is looking for a high-octane news editor who is ready to manage our industry coverage in several local design markets across the U.S. You’ll be the epicenter of our news-gathering operation, hiring and managing reporters in NY, LA, Atlanta, Texas, and Chicago, fielding their pitches and editing multiple local news stories a day. You know the interior design industry cold, have an ear for hot gossip, and are an expert at securing exclusives, breaking news, packaging digital content, and using analytics to inform your next editorial decision. Our ideal candidate is a newshound who is comfortable working in real time, juggling multiple stories at once, and enjoys pushing a team of reporters as much as they do scooping the competition for a story.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Act as a point person for production of short news stories from contributors
* Write multiple news stories a day
* Act as assignment editor
* Top edit news content
* Create packages and develop features in response to industry trends and analytics
* Attend daily editorial meetings and regular pitch meetings
* Create syndication and social opportunities for content across the site
* Work with photographers, writers, and video producers
* Make media appearances and appear in video produced for the site
* Work with marketing and advertising teams on RFPs and native content when necessary
* Travel when necessary

Requirements:
* 6+ years editorial experience, preferably digital
* Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
* An appetite for high-impact stories
* Solid understanding of social media tools and best practices
* A deep understanding of SEO best practices
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Interest in and knowledge of the design industry
