Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Director of Admission for First-YearRecruitment, the Regional Director of Admission for Middle Atlantic Recruitment provides strategic direction for the recruitment and enrollment of students in the Middle Atlantic region. This is a full time, fiscal year position.
The Regional Director of Admission for Middle Atlantic Recruitment will be based in one of the following areas:
- Northern New Jersey (Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Sussex, Passaic, or Union Counties)
- New York (Long Island, Rockland, or Westchester Counties)
The Regional Director develops and implements data-driven, strategic and innovative recruitment plans to achieve first-year and transfer enrollment goals. S/he will ensure that all activities support the institution’s mission and strategic plan, and are properly planned, executed and assessed. The individual will serve as an extension of the home office by building and maintaining personalized working relationships with strategic high schools, secondary school counselors, prospective students, and alumni.
The Regional Director will provide exemplary leadership in the supervision of the Regional Assistant Directors of Admission. In addition to recruitment and admission, the Regional Director will collaborate with the offices of Development and Alumni Relations, O’Brien Center for Career Development, Athletics and Student Life in the support of institutional initiatives within the Middle Atlantic region.
The Regional Director is expected to attend state and regional professional development conferences and support the regional association through leadership opportunities. S/he must be a strong communicator with polished presentation skills who can speak publicly to individuals or groups. S/he will be a go getter, who expects/prepares for change. A successful candidate will take initiative in identifying opportunities that will improve or benefit the college.
- Develop, implement, report and assess a domestic first-yearrecruitment plan that helps the institution achieve its enrollment goals within a growing market
- Implement a domestic first-yearrecruitment plan which includes high school visits, college fairs, off-campus interviews, information sessions, receptions, and meetings with secondary school and independent counselors, prospective students, families, and community-based organizations (CBOs)
- Support the recruitment and admission of transfer students from institutions within the assigned territory
- Plan all off-campus admissionevents in all areas of regional responsibility
- Complete and evaluate all domestic first-year applications in regional territory
- Build personalized relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, alumni, and other constituents in support of the recruitment goals for the territory
- Provide exemplary leadership in the supervision of the Regional Assistant Directors of Admission
- Collaborate with the offices of Development and Alumni Relations, O’Brien Center for Career Development, Athletics and Student Life in the support of institutional initiatives within the region
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degreepreferred
- At least 3 - 5 years of experience in undergraduateadmission within the Middle Atlantic region, preferably as a regional representative
- Demonstrated experience delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse array of customers
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a data-oriented and analytical environment that has a high level of individual and team accountability
- Ability to focus on specific quantifiable goals and deliver goals on a consistent basis
- Ability to establish and maintain effective personalized working relationships with students, parents, administrators, staff, counselors, faculty, alumni and others
- Strong communicator with polished presentation skills both verbally and written
- Evidence of strong multi-tasking, planning, organization, and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, take initiative, and work with a high level of autonomy
- Demonstrated commitment to the values associated with a liberal arts education
- Willingness and ability to travel, sometimes extensively
- Willingness and ability to work nights and weekends, as needed
