You will:

      • For our Teams, you will:
      • Build passionate, empowered, high-performing Retail teams, coaching and inspiring them to success while developing them into their future roles. Develop a group of Area Leaders to do the same
      • Attract and build an effective and diverse Area Leader team, with styles, perspectives, and experience that keep Blue Bottle moving forward and ensuring its success
      • Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to team members at all levels and across teams in order to achieve ever-improving team, guest and business results
      • Lead cross-functional teams through product rollouts, initiatives, company changes, etc, creating connections between our teams in the field and in our offices, while ensuring the successful implementation of each
      • Exchange perspectives and strategies with other cross-functional teams to find ways to take the best from what is happening elsewhere at Blue Bottle and apply it to Retail at a global level

      • For our Guests, you will:
      • Actively seek out guest feedback and expectations, defining and leading Retail strategies to meet and exceed these expectations
      • Define, create and execute guest experiences through your retail teams that are consistent and aligned with our standards, ensuring consistently returning guests, as well as the reaching of new ones
      • Ensure every retaillocation is an exemplar of hospitality toward our guests while teaching your team to find new and creative ways to connect more deeply with the communities around our cafes

    • For our Business, you will:
    • Lead and grow a portfolio of 50-100 successful cafes, developing strategies that are implementable and executable across all of Retail
    • Define and articulate a compelling, inspiring, and relatable Retail vision for your teams, creating milestones to ensure execution
    • Develop strategic and operational plans for the region that keep Blue Bottle competitive and moving forward, cross-collaborating withsupport teams and partners as necessary, forming communications, leading the implementation and execution, and measuring the results
    • Drive consistency and continuous improvement of retail operations, ever improving the guest and employee experience and improving our performance
    • Plan and manage our Retail processes and standards, ensuring they are aligned with Blue Bottle goals and objectives
    • Drive exceptional financial performance for the region’s cafes through strong operational management and coaching of Area Leaders
    • Manage the overall Retail budget for the region, developing the plan and budget, and providing quarterly forecast updates

You have:

    • 5+ years of retail leadership or equivalent experience, leading multiple regions and locations across operations, change, turnarounds and people development. Must involve a large front-line team with direct ownership of multiple P&Ls
    • 5+ years managing the financial success of multiple retaillocations (ideally more than 30)
    • 5+ years in retail management, with specific experience managing other retail leaders across multiple regions and locations (ideally more than 10)
    • Demonstrated success in retail expansion across regions and into new ones
    • Ideally prior experience in coffee or food & beverage
    • A deep love and respect of delicious coffee, food and amazing guest experiences
    • Strong verbal and written communication, proven across multiple layers of leaders
