At Dart, we believe business is a human endeavor and that the contributions of our employees are vital to our company’s success. We are currently looking for our next Regional Accounting Manager who can add an energetic and strategic view to our Accounting Manufacturing group.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to supervise a decentralized plant accounting organization that is responsible for the development of manufacturing’s standard costs and spend analysis. You will work closely with two other regional accounting managers in managing the daily product costing activities and month-end accounting of our US plant locations while also providing guidance in the accounting activities at our manufacturing plants. While there will be times we will need you to think quickly on your feet, we also need a strategic thinker who can assist with projects and the implementation of process changes to achieve administrative efficiencies. We operate in an integrated SAP environment and we are continuously expanding our capabilities to analyze operating costs in support of plant management decision-making.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Establish, maintain and review location standard cost systems; support the systems used to develop and analyze product costs
  • Supervise preparation and analysis of monthly cost center spending, inventory levels, and production standard earned for plant management at each assigned location
  • Ensure valued inventories have accurate quantities and are properly valued in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee and analyze the cost of goods sold section of financial statements in support of the monthly financial close
  • Acquire a detailed understanding of company processes, procedures and plant accounting internal controls
  • Identify, recommend and document plant accounting process improvements and procedures

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting, or related field of study
  • Ten (10) years of experience in cost accounting
  • Ten (10) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with plant managers and other business partners
  • Five (5) years of experience in implementing accounting process improvements
  • Knowledge of query, reporting and data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Up to 25% domestic travel (may vary by assigned region)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • CPA or CMA certification
