The work location for this role includes the Central US, and the preferred location is Des Moines, IA or surrounding area. Location in the Central/Corn Belt geography is essential to enable collaboration with the Nutrien and Syngenta teams, however the ability to travel the Western Heartland/Corn Belt US and is important factor in location.

As the Regional Account Lead, you will establish and manage a relationship with Regional and Division management of designated Syngenta National Accounts (Nutrien Corn Belt West and Corn Belt East Regions). You will be responsible for the implementation of Crop Protection and Seed marketing programs and sales incentive programs with assigned accounts. You will also interact with the Customer Marketing teams and District Managers to ensure effective communications with the account to ensure accurate and complete delivery of Syngenta product and program positioning throughout the accounts’ hierarchies. In this critical role, you will provide the link between Account management at the Corporate Office level and the Regional and Division levels of the customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver budget sales volumes of Crop Protection and Seed Care products for Regions/Divisions of assigned account(s)
  • Grow Syngenta share of wallet in Crop Protection and Seed Care
  • Stay within Travel and Entertainment budgets
  • Develop comprehensive Crop Protection and Seed Business Plans with Accounts’ Region and Division managers
  • Maintain regular frequent contact with designated personnel with the Account(s)
  • Ensure complete communication of Syngenta product and program information through the Regions and Divisions of assigned accounts
  • Ensure visibility of sales targets to the Accounts’ Regions and Divisions and drive collaboration with Syngenta sales districts to maximize sales of all Syngenta products
  • Provide business information and analysis to the Strategic Account Lead to enable the development of a comprehensive account plan
  • Coordinate training to address Accounts’ needs

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • A minimum of 5 years of field sales experience in Crop Protection
  • Understanding of financial metrics and how they can be used by companies to measure success
  • Understanding of the positioning of the entire Syngenta product portfolio
  • Where to go within Syngenta for resources to meet accounts’ needs
  • Ability to recognize market opportunities and to recommend actions to exploit them
  • Understanding of how each of the product lines are sold by the Account and ability to properly position Syngenta products within the Accounts’ structure
  • Ability to learn and understand the Accounts’ needs, business objectives, key financial metrics and how to meet those needs with Syngenta products
