Job Description:

To assist in the administration of various human resource services and functions within the Lafayette Large Engine Facility with a focus on internal and external recruitment activities. 

1) Coordination of Recruitment Activities- this does not require someone who has had a background as a recruiter. This takes the skillset of someone to be the contact with different talent pipelines, help manage those relationships, and help organize and schedule the client team members that will be attending recruitment events. (For example: I need someone that will sign us up for appropriate job fairs or campus visits, manage the relationship with the University, and help to schedule client team members to attend the event as well as ensure they have all of our recruiting information and items to take with them to the campus visit or job fair). 

Strong Organization skills and communication skills are a must for this task. 

2) HR Process Roles- several of the candidates received previously were over qualified in this area. We are looking for someone who has a few years of HR experience, but who hasn't been the HR manager for a facility or managing an HR team. If that is the experience level they have, they would be over qualified as this role will be supporting many of the administrative HR functions for the team. Strong organizational skills and communication skills are a must for this task. We can expose them to more HR processes and potentially add more HR tasks to the roles, but this would be starting as more HR support vs. HR leadership. 

3) Grant Assistance- this role is again dedicated to managing our relationship with the local WorkOne office and other agencies that provide us with Grant Opportunities. Grant Writing is not a required skill set, but a history of working with grants, organizing our grant efforts, and being the liaison with the local agencies would fall to the individual in this role. 

Incumbents typically have previous human resources and/or recruitment experience and have progressed through various human resources positions. 

Typical Day

Job functions include: 

? Organizes the recruitment activities supporting Lafayette LECU and provides needed resources to managers and teams attending recruitment activities. 

These include, but are not limited to: 

? On site interview logistics (resume and interview packets, interview location logistics, travel logistics) 

? Maintaining recruitment calendar of all events requiring client resources 

? Develops and maintains excellent relationships with internal customer groups and external agencies and groups, etc. 

? Organizes and schedules new employee orientation and communicates to all involved parties. 

? Manage grant programs and works with local agencies to secure applicable grants. 

? Ensures that key metrics and reporting statistics are available and up-to-date, with the help of the Recruitment team. 

? Various other human resources related duties 

Education Requirement

? This position ideally requires a degree-educated or equivalent professional with at least 3 - 5 years relevant HR experience and at least a year in recruitment. 

? Candidates fresh out of college would be underqualified for the position. 

? Candidates who have been HR managers would be overqualified for the position.

Technical Skills

? Candidate will have experience with local grants and/or grant writing. 

? Proficient with Microsoft Office. 

? Candidate will ideally have experience with recruiting software, like LinkedIn,, Facebook, etc. 

Soft Skills

? The incumbent will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

? The incumbent must be exceptionally well-organized as work is pressured and constant, and must be an excellent relationship-builder and a self-starter. 

? Good human relations and effective communications skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside of department. 

? The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. 

Travel Requirement:

? 0-25% (Travel within Indiana, possibly OH and IL for recruitment related activities.)
