It is the primary responsibility of the Recreation Services Manager to oversee day to day operations of the Pool & Spa. The manager will monitor the operations to ensure guest satisfaction and compliance with applicable health, safety and hygiene standards. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.

  • Manage operational functions consistent with strategic plan and vision for the department, division, and property.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Pool & Spa and ensure the highest level of service is provided to all guests; ensure the aesthetic environment of the departments are consistent with the guest experience standards; may be involved in escalated issues or special requests to expedite the resolution of problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor the departments’ operations to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and hygiene standards; ensure all Southern Nevada Health Department regulations are adhered to; ensure compliance with all code requirements for employee certifications, permits and licenses; oversees the overall maintenance and repair of all equipment.
  • Manage Pool & Spa staff to ensure they adhere to, and enforce, county and state regulations, company Pool & Spa policies while being alert to their duties and responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the departments’ fiscal budgets, constantly monitoring inventory and rates to yield maximum occupancy, while controlling labor and other costs to maximize profitability.
  • Manage the Human Resources responsibilities for the department to include: hiring/firing, training, issuing disciplines of employees, and ensure the proper documentation of all actions taken
  • Researches and evaluates new services, products, technologies, and trends for customer preferences; researches and evaluates suppliers and vendors for Pool & Spa based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, reputation, and history; evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Work with the COE, Training, and Risk Management to develop, design, implement, coordinate, and maintain Pool & Spa safety programs and training.
  • Work with the Director of Hotel Operations and Marketing on marketing strategies to enhance customer loyalty, brand awareness and identify potential markets.
  • Motivate and recognize employees in new and fun ways.
  • Establish strong working relationships with all support and property/company departments.
  • Monitor and maintain the delivery of guest service consistent with company’s core SHOW service standards and brand attributes.
  • Coordinate and conduct performance appraisals of staff in accordance with property and company guidelines and procedures.
  • Monitor records of repairs needed for the Pool, Spa, and Fitness Center equipment and ensure facilities are maintained at the highest standards.
  • Instruct new hires and employees on expectations and responsibilities for each role and ensure training is completed and thorough
  • Monitor products for back bar and amenities.
  • Ensure proper staff schedules and room assignments for massage therapists are maintained.
  • Issue coaching and/or progressive discipline according to company policies
  • Manage points of sales and computer systems.
  • Monitor and manage the retailpartnership.
  • Participate in company initiatives/committees as assigned.
  • Perform other job related duties as requested


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least three (3) years of previous management or supervisory and customer service experience
  • Working knowledge of general health and sanitation codes.
  • Working knowledge of general HR policies and procedures including but not limited to LOA, FMLA.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Zenoti, Kronos, Workday, Hotsos and COUPA.
  • Working knowledge of computer software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.


  • Working knowledge of Spa, Salon and Pool and fitness industry.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
