Rate & Regulatory Analyst Senior / Consultant will initiate, coordinate, prepare documents and studies required for rate and regulatory purposes; perform research and analyses necessary for the administration of rates, compliance with regulatory requirements, and economic evaluations. You will evaluate the technical and financial impact of regulatory decisions; review and analyze special studies; interpret study results and provide policy recommendations, evaluate and draft comments on proposed regulatory rulemakings and proposed legislation. As well as provide project leadership and training for other analysts and specialist.

Minimum Requirements Senior

  • BS/BA in business, economics, mathematics, or engineering or comparable experience in analytical methods,
  • plus approximately four (4) years of related experience.
  • An advanced degree in the above disciplines may substitute for two (2) years experience.
  • Must have excellent communications skills and ability to effectively work with others.
  • Broad knowledge of utility rate economics, principles and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of rate theory, practices and tariff administration and current industry trends and developments.
  • Advanced proficiency on current personal computer spreadsheet, word processing, graphics and operating systems.

Minimum Requirements Consultant

  • BS/BA in business, economics, mathematics, or engineering or comparable experience in analytical methods,
  • plus approximately six (6) years of directly related utility experience.
  • An advanced degree in the above disciplines may substitute for two (2) years experience.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of utility operations, rate theory and economics, and regulatory principles and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of APS rate policies, practices and tariffs.
  • Advanced proficiency on current personal computer spreadsheet, word processing, graphics and operating systems.
  • In depth knowledge of regulatory practices, rules and procedures.
