Job Description

WSP is seeking a hands-on senior project manager to lead a variety of rail and transit engineering and/or construction projects.  The candidate will become a member of our growing rail and transit group and will work throughout the US with a focus on Chicago and Midwest states.  This is an opportunity to lead large and complex rail and transit projects, with emphasis on program management and construction oversight.  A key area of responsibility will be project delivery and management involving heavy rail metro and light rail initiatives requiring knowledge of at-grade and elevated rail facilities and infrastructure, and a general understanding of rail systems, etc.  The candidate must have experience and a diversified knowledge in standard project delivery, risk management, change order management, scheduling and cost control, construction oversight, and rail/transit industry-specific principles and practices.  Candidate must have also have experience with heavy rail metro, light rail, and/or commuter rail, and be capable of making decisions on significant program level and construction related problems and issues.
 
Major Duties:

    Manage large rail and transit project delivery and construction projects
    Manage staff and activities for a project or program of significant size and complexity
    Develop and maintain strong client relationships
    Lead proposals and pursuits
    Manage tasks as assigned
    Other duties as assigned

Project Description:
This position will support a wide variety of rail and transit projects, with initial assignments targeted in Chicago and the Midwest region.


Job Requirements

Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in engineering
    Minimum 20 years of rail and transit industry program and construction management experience
    Project delivery for large complex projects over $300 million in construction value
    Computer literate
    Demonstrated verbal/oral skills
    Strong technical writing ability
    Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
    Quality Control / Quality Assurance experience
    Professional registration preferred

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 20 years of related experience required.  PE License preferred.  Ability to work in this country immediately required.
