RF Engineer II, Sprint Corporation, San Ramon, CA

Provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment. Resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills and ability to create presentations for internal review. Interact with senior internal and external personnel. Comply with Sprint’s Driver Safety Policy and guidelines.


Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field plus two years related work experience. Experience should include: RF engineering work with radio communication systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination and cell site equipment layout and parameter feature definition and knowledge; Project management and project implementation; Demonstrated experience in CDMA, EvDO and LTE FDD/TDD optimization, including call set up, HO and call failures. Experience must also include capacity management optimization, multi band LTE traffic management techniques, demonstrated experience with OFDMA air interface for TDD and FDD; OEM RAN specific experience with Samsung, Nokia, Ericsson on both CDMA and LTE optimization; detailed Layer 3 Drive test data analysis to drive network optimization and performance improvement of CDMA and LTE FDD/TDD; GIS based analysis, RF Propagation including measurement integration, Microwave Path Modeling concepts, Mapinfo, Planet, Atoll, XCAL, XCAP and Windcatcher; Experience in Planet and Atoll based ACP design and implementation.
