Imagine New Horizons….As a SIMULIA User Assistance Developer, you will apply your technical and communication skills to create user assistance to support a new generation of engineering applications. SIMULIA applications allow our users to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of products before committing to physical prototypes. Users can also optimize their designs, automate industry processes, and explore design alternatives.
We are looking for someone who:

  • has a strong engineering background and analytical abilities;
  • has the ability to explain complex engineering applications to our users;
  • has excellent communication skills;
  • has an interest in technical communication and information architecture; and
  • is curious about the diverse problems solved using our simulation software in a wide variety of industries.

What will your role be?
You will have the opportunity to learn about SIMULIA simulation applications from a user’s perspective, and you will gain hands-on experience while working with software developers, product managers, user experience designers, and senior User Assistance team members on a variety of projects. This is a highly technical, collaborative, fast-paced environment.  The work you do will help the SIMULIA R&D team deliver an engaging user experience for the users of our engineering simulation software.
Your Challenges ahead

  • Produce and edit online documentation, interactive application help, and videos. 
  • Develop realistic engineering examples and tutorials.
  • Write documentation in XML format using industry-standard tools. 
  • Use Camtasia software to create and edit videos.
  • Design and implement information architecture projects.
  • Interview subject matter experts as necessary.
  • Use SIMULIA products regularly and provide usability feedback.
  • Navigate through SIMULIA applications to connect and test the integration of user assistance within the user interface.
  • Participate in usability tests and Beta tests for new product features.
  • Work within an established development process.
  • Adhere to established corporate style guidelines. 
  • Work collaboratively with software developers, product management, and UX colleagues worldwide.
  • Mentor developers on user assistance best practices.

Your key success factors?

  • Passion for combining engineering, teaching, and helping others.
  • Strong technical background with a degree in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
  • Fluency in English and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with users and product managers to understand engineering and business requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting. Open to receiving feedback and constructive critique.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
