Evaluate, select, and apply novel techniques & processes to develop, adapt, and modify new and existing coatings solutions for the aerospace, consumer electronics, and automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) marketplaces.
*** Research and develop new products, technologies, and update existing products such as specialty chemicals, performance coatings, and similar.
*** Create plans and prioritize according to established planning documents (Product Development Processes, budget, etc).
*** Provide technical assistance and support to Production, Sales, and Marketing for product scale-up, quality control, application testing, and other cross functional activities.
*** Produce monthly and quarterly progress reports, technical plans, and project summaries.
*** Ensure robustness in all phases of research and development in compliance with Department of Energy, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, and similar standards.
*** Train and supervise technicians and junior chemists and identify development needs.
