Kforce's client, an emerging and well-respected boutique hedge fund specializing in options trading is looking to hire a talented and creative Quantitative Researcher/Python Developer to assist in building systematic trading models. Summary: The ideal candidate will work directly with senior portfolio manager in the execution, development, and implementation of systematic volatility and options based trading models. The role requires a self-starter with advanced computer programming skills, broad knowledge of machine learning algorithms and data science, a demonstrated interest in quantitativetrading and markets, and creativity to invent and customize models when necessary. The Quantitative Researcher must have excellent communication skills and willingness to explain ideas to non-technical colleagues and clients. This role provides an opportunity for creativity and intellectual freedom in a boutique company with direct connection between performance and compensation. Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experiencerequired; MS/PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning or Data Processing preferred
  • 5 years of work experience in machine learning or experience in data analysis and processing
  • Demonstrated advanced computer programming skills (Python, C, R, VBA)
  • Broad knowledge of machine learning, data engineering, data mining algorithms (decision trees, HMMs, probability networks, association rules, clustering, and neural networks)
  • Demonstrated interest in systematic trading and options theory
  • Creativity and intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • This company is a small entrepreneurial company that is best suited for a results oriented self-starter; must be capable of working independently and taking control of a project from start to finish by oneself
  • Intellectual interest in solving problems in financial markets a must
  • Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial/non-linear mindset a must
  • Willingness to cooperate and communicate with non-technical personnel a must
