Qualifications:

At least 5+ years of quality management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Bachelors degree. Strong leadership skills, stable work history. Company will relocate if not local.

Job Summary:

Develops, implements, and coordinates quality assurance program by leading the efforts at Suppliers on the Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma continuous improvement process and through the other applications such as quality tools and techniques.

Interpret engineering drawings and technical nomenclatures. Troubleshoot both internal and supplier's production line issues and capabilities. Participate in sourcing reviews and supplier audits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Provides quality engineering support by evaluating, selecting and developing a supply base and assess new supplier technology to obtain maximum quality and productivity levels. Reviews and audits supplier products, processes capabilities and/or systems performance to meet our quality standards and provides suggestions for improvement.

Attend first production runs at suppliers’ sites; evaluate processes for their capability to consistently adhere to company's specifications.

Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards.

Develops corrective actions to address supplier quality and warranty failures. Suggests modification and corrective actions by suppliers to meet customer specifications and standards.

Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing and purchasing to ensure quality standards are in place and maintained.

Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

Conducts quality process audits of plant processes, issues and tracks audit findings as appropriate.

Assists Suppliers in deploying process management to bring process and product stability through improved process control and capability.

Monitors supplier issues from root cause to permanent corrective action (must have prior Problem Solving skills such as 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, Flowcharting, etc.).

Provides coaching and training where appropriate, in process management, problem solving , data collection & analysis and statistical application.

Evaluates contents of reports from product management department heads and confers with management personnel regarding disposition of problems and agenda.

Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.

Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry and country or residence.

Manages all aspects of incoming receiving inspection program.

Ability to work in a team environment, promotes team's building & maintain regular attendance.
