Description and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all quality functions including food safety, sanitation efficiencies, customer service, and overall performance of the quality department
  • Leads and develops team members through training, communication, and accountability
  • Demonstrates knowledge of product and processes, and their impact on overall quality
  • Primary technical liaison with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensures compliance to regulations and standards
  • Monitors and responds to customer complaints regarding quality of products and customer concerns.
  • Trending and tracking of both leading and lagging quality indicators
  • Ensures all quality records and systems are updated and meet GFSI standards and requirements.
  • Manages customer, Quality, and Regulatory facility and Quality systems audits. Prepares for, coordinates, and oversees.
  • Responsible for serving as a member of the site crisis management team with responsibility for quality and food safety
  • Monitors and maintains the corrective and preventive action program for troubleshooting production concerns and customer product issues.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field of study such as Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering is required

  • 5+ years relevant quality experience within industry. Proven leadership/management experience leading and developing teams.
  • Transformational leadership experiencepreferred
  • Working cross functionally successfully in a highly matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated success with relevant GFSI standards including SQF, BRC, IFS,FS 22000 are PCQI certifications are preferred
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Food Safety regulations, FSMA, and industry and market trends
  • Achievement in assessing, developing and retaining top talent
  • Proven ability to lead with the following key competencies: Technical Expertise, Strategic Thinking & Influence, Process Optimization & Product Knowledge, and Leading & Managing Change
