Role Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for Leadership of the quality team, assigned plants and support functions to ensure Business Operating System (BOS) metrics, plant metrics, quality launch metrics and customer satisfaction are being achieved or exceeded. The Quality Manager will supervise the assigned quality department which includes responsibility for the training, development, coaching and performance of quality personnel. This person will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Suppliers, Senior Management and Customers. High level structured problem solving and decision making capability required. Assist in development of the quality department budget and manage resources and spending to ensure the budgets are achieved.

General Responsibilities:

Support the management, development and continual improvement of the Business Operating System (BOS).

Administers appropriate policies, procedures and work instructions supporting BOS and Customer Specific Requirements.

Assists in internal and external auditing process of BOS.

Assists in development of corporate and departmental goals. Support and champion the quality vision and goals through assigned plants and teams.

Champion, coach and teach problem solving and continual improvement events. Provides the technical expertise in problem solving tools to lead, coach and teach at all levels of Cascade Engineering.

Ensures processes and systems are followed and effective to maintain IATF-16949 registration

Establishes and maintains positive customer and supplier relationships.

Manage and lead improvement initiatives to maintain positive customer scorecards and customer satisfaction audit results.

Establishes and maintains positive relationships with production teams, plant support functions, engineering, and management.

Participates and/or lead the advance quality planning (AQP), and production part approval process (PPAP) activities.

Manages the design, build and maintenance of gages using appropriate MSA tools (gage R&R, calibration, gage bias studies, etc…).

Manages the development, maintenance of process flows, process failure mode effects analyses (PFMEA's), control plans to minimize risk and maintain customer satisfaction

Leads and partners with Supply Chain Management resolution of supplier quality problems and supplier development

Participates and supports the Cascade Enterprise System (CES) Ensures statistical methods to lead continual improvement of process/product stability and capability

Lead, trains and mentors Quality Engineers and Quality Technician with direct responsibility for professional development and performance accountability

Budget accountability of the quality department

Monitors customer satisfaction and assists customers with quality concern/negotiates nonconformance issues

Manages, negotiates and problems solves warranty failures

Minimum Education, Experience and Core Competency Requirements:

Bachelor degree with 7+ years experience or Master's degree with 5 years of experience

High risk decision making requirements

Strong problem solving skills using structured problem solving methods such as 8-D, Shainin, DMAIC, Kepner Tregoe etc

Strong knowledge of APQP

Understanding of product drawing, CAD, and GD&T is beneficial

Excellent writing, presenting and verbal communication skills

Strong computer skills
