Job Description

Based in Raymond, Maine, Dielectric LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and is a leading provider of innovative broadcast products. The Company is a trusted partner of broadcasters worldwide. We design, engineer, and manufacture antennas, combiners, switches, diplexers, transmission lines and waveguides for television, and FM radio. We collaborate with the consultant community, as well as with its customers' engineering staffs, to design advanced and reliable antenna systems.


Dielectric is seeking a full-time Quality Engineer. We are looking for someone who will provide the direction, coordination, and interaction of the Quality Assurance functions within two manufacturing facilities. This position reports to the Site Quality Manager.


Job duties include:


  • Promote continuous improvement by coordinating accurate and timely assessments of activities affecting quality with an emphasis on customer satisfaction
  • Perform independent and objective monitoring of all manufacturing processes
  • Identify non conformance and systemic failure, recommend corrective / preventive action
  • Assist in training of personnel in company operations on quality and customer requirements


Additional responsibilities will include:


  • Support complex problem-solving analysis, investigations, report writing, and containment/repair activity utilizing quality engineering principles
  • Support Quality functions of incoming, in-process and outgoing audits routinely
  • Ability to interface with suppliers and participate in on-site audits to ensure an environment of continuous quality improvement
  • Actively supports Field Incident Reporting process through detailed investigations and follow-up preventive measures with Manufacturing, Engineering and Suppliers
  • Manages the coordination of the site Calibration Program
  • Works closely with Manufacturing and Engineering personnel to identify and facilitate Engineering Change Orders as they address process and Quality related concerns
  • Support the Deviation Reporting management program through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and customer follow-up for supplier issues, manufacturing process defects and supplied parts concerns
  • Responsible for evaluating, dispositioning and CAPA follow-through on returned parts through the RMA (Returned Material Authorization) process
  • Initiate and participate in regular meetings to address Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Engineering concerns as they relate to achieving customer product requirements and delivery
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards and confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Works closely with Engineering to define Validation / Verification methodologies of new products to ensure products meet customer requirements and industry quality standards
  • Create a positive Quality environment through active communication, training and staff development within the organization


Essential Qualifications:


  • A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Process Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE) and strong understanding of ISO QM System Requirements
  • Able to lead Root Cause Analysis Investigations 
  • Understanding of Engineering Terms and Practices, including ability to read Engineering Drawings
  • Well versed with Microsoft Office Products including: PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word and Outlook
  • Familiarity with MRP systems; experience with Oracle MRP is preferred 
  • Knowledge in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and training personnel on SOP’s
  • Critical Thinking and Deductive Reasoning Skills a must, coupled with strong communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Possesses interpersonal savvy (Supplier/Customer Relationships)
  • Demonstrates a collaborative style, working in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines 
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain close attention to detail
  • Capable of working independently with little supervision, maintaining flexibility as priorities change
  • Highly developed organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills
