Pratt & Whitney is looking for a Quality Engineer to support the final assembly line for the next generation product family (NGPF) PW1500G designed for the A220 at the Airbus facility in Mobile, Alabama.
What You Will Do:
- The selected candidate will support the final assembly line by collaborating with staff at Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney Canada and Pratt & Whitney Operations by acting as a primary resource working with Engineering, Customer Service, Procurement and other functional disciplines to facilitate the final delivery of the powerplants to Airbus.
- The Quality Engineer must adopt innovative approaches to problem solving, be able to build action plans quickly for resolution and be able to coordinate the implementation of corrective measures according to the developed action plan.
- You will be responsible for technical support related to quality problems encountered on the final assembly line (FAL) of the A220, while keeping up to date engine documentation. Under limited supervision, that person will work directly with the OEM and with international teams to deliver a world class experience to this demanding customer. This will require a strong ability to find solutions and build consensus among multiple stakeholders.
- Provide technical support to Airbus during final aircraft assembly.
- Maintain engine documentation and generate delivery documents.
- Review and analyze any material / assembly concerns causing quality and delivery issues by reviewing procedures, specifications, instructions, processes and equipment to ensure compliance with applicable drawings, specifications and standards to resolve quality and delivery problems.
- Produce, maintain and communicate quality performance indicators to the P&W management team and oversee quality improvement programs.
- Maintain effective communications with key stakeholders, multidisciplinary and global team members.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors degree in aeronautics, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related field and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
- Computer skills (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
- Solid knowledge of the quality system and the 8D corrective action methodology.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in a continuous improvement program / Red-X or 6-Sigma certification an asset.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical engineering data, such as manufacturing or part drawings.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
