SUMMARY

 

Quality Engineer primary job duties include quality planning (APQP), PPAP submissions, problem solving, planning and directing activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards; providing direction, leadership and training for the identification, implementation and use of effective and efficient quality systems and procedures, and continuous process improvement. Job duties may also include coordination of the daily inspection program including gathering, entering and analyzing any/all SPC data (where applicable).  Must be self-motivated and have strong communication skills.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

*          Facilitates the development, implementation, training, and maintenance of quality systems that adhere to quality standards.

*          Provides leadership as a recognized authority on structured problem solving teams and special projects to proactively promote and contribute to continuous improvement of the QMS and assure continued customer satisfaction

*          Coordinates the effective and timely resolution to customer concerns.

*          Performs cause and effect analysis.

*          Design and conduct experiments on existing processes.

*          Design and carry out experiments involving changes in process, instrumentation's, etc.

*          Conducts process potential and process capability studies.

*          Establish & maintain statistical techniques & applications

*          Conducts studies on characteristics to determine appropriate dimensions to measure for SPC (if applicable).

*          Coordination of the daily inspection program including gathering, entering and analyzing any/all SPC data (where applicable). 

*          Establish & maintain control over inspection process & test criteria

*          Participates in internal audits of quality system plan and procedures.

*          Participate in External QMSaudits

*          Organize and participate in employee involvement teams.

*          Create, modify, analyze, and implement effective quality packet documentation to control production processes.

*          Conduct equipment calibrations

*          Gage R & R studies.

*          Interaction withEngineering to develop gage concepts, interaction with gage suppliers to assure proper design, build, and on-time delivery.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

 

High school diploma or general educationdegree (G.E.D.)

BachelorDegreePreferred in technical field (i.e. Engineering, Manufacturing, or related)

Five years of experience performing quality assurance duties in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining quality management system requirements such as ISO9001, QS9000, TS16949required.

Experiencewith: GD&T, micrometers, calipers, optical measuring devices, special jigs and fixtures.
