Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement Activities of production supervision to assure timely response to production quality issues
  • Coordination of problem solving activities in accordance to established methodologies. Proper documentation per established guidelines. Timely communication and updates on Customer returns and complaints in coordination with customer quality contacts
  • Write and approve test standards process and products
  • Stop /reject material for non-compliance in product or procedure affecting potential quality or test compliance and react to issues as they arise
  • Spot audit and Dock audit on a regular basis
  • Preparation of PPAP's per AIAG guidelines, timely re-submissions as required and follow up on approvals
  • Development and maintenance of PCPs. Review and approval of flow charts. Active participation in development and ongoing reviews of FMEA
  • Verification of Measurement Systems compliance to requirements and calibration schedule
  • Continuous monitoring of areas of responsibility to ensure compliance to Quality System requirements (rev. level of products match approved level, material identification, control of non-conforming material
  • Risk assessment of process, product and supplier changes on product characteristics that might affect chemical and mechanical properties
  • Preparation and submission of reports per specific requirements. Product auditreports and summaries
  • Coordination and monitoring of processes using data analytics and assure compliance with 6 sigma Quality
  • Enforcement of Plant's Policies and Procedures in the areas of responsibility, at all levels
  • Suggestions for improvement of Quality related procedures via enhanced procedures, methods and audit programs
  • Organize quality problem solving and lead teams to a systemic approach on corrective actions
  • Develop new programs "safe launch" and containment plans, GP12, etc. 

 

Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in high volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Quality field in automotive environment preferable
  • Knowledge and understanding of AIAG requirements (PPAP, MSA, SPC, etc.)
  • Knowledge and understanding of IATF:16949 requirements
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Statistical Engineering techniques
  • Automotive industry experience is a major plus

 

Education:

  • B.S. in Engineering, preferably in metallurgy or equivalent experience.
