The Quality Control Engineer III performs incoming quality control on the nCounter™ instrumentation.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform incoming quality control on instruments
  • Test and troubleshoot instruments, electrical, optical, and microfluidic sub assemblies in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Document all activities and update/maintain instrument configuration databases in compliance with all procedures
  • Interface with the commercial team and NanoString customers directly when performing instrument service and technical support
  • Communicate service concerns with our OEM partners
  • Load software, verify configurations, calibrate, and test NanoString instruments in compliance with all procedures to prepare them for shipment to our customers
  • Provide front-line troubleshooting on any system issues discovered during incoming QC
  • Train engineers on current instrument platforms and repairs
  • Operate independently on projects
  • Write and execute hardware testing procedures and protocols

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Mechanical, Electrical or Bioengineering B.S. degree or equivalent experience
  • Thorough understanding of state-of-the art hardware and software QC methodologies
  • Capable of working independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate relevant scientific data effectively in oral and written format
  • May require lifting objects up to 50lbs

Desired:

  • Field service and support experience
  • Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy and robotic systems
  • General knowledge of genetic analysis techniques (DNA microarrays, gene expression analysis, and quantitative PCR)
  • Experience working in a QSR certified organization (ISO 13485 and FDA)
