Quality Control Analyst IV - Web & Mobile Banking Buffalo, NY  
OPPORTUNITY:
Participates or provides oversight in the development of system test strategies, plans, and designs.

Acts as a test lead, responsible for various system testing activities including, but not limited to, attending project meetings, reviewing test plan documentation, assisting in the creation and execution of test cases, and defect tracking, and scheduling and facilitating related test sessions/meetings.

Provides support and assistance to the Quality Control Team Lead in managing and developing staff members, creating departmental reporting, and attending meetings when the Team Lead is not available.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Aids management’s oversight of staff responsible for the development and creation of system test plans and test cases, ensuring adherence to the department’s standards and procedures, including all document/artifact requirements.

Recognizes and recommends ideas to improve efficiencies, policies, and procedures in order to achieve the department’s goals to include test life cycle time improvements, etc.

Ensures compliance with bank standards (i.e.: PMM, SDM, SOX, etc.) throughout system testing including required documentation/artifact retention.
Actively participates in Employee Engagement activities within Central Technology. Collaborates with management in developing department-level Employee Engagement activities as well.

Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Possesses an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the test life cycle, providing the ability to work on projects outside of the normal BAU.
Provides system test expertise as well as standardized test processes, documentation, etc.

Creates and maintains an environment that encourages teamwork and provides opportunities for continued staff development.

Provides back up for the Quality Control Team Lead as appropriate and required.

May be called upon to serve as a system-testing representative on committees, ad-hoc project teams, etc.
The Quality Control QCA will work with limited supervision when special situations require advice or joint problem solving effort.

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
May assist Quality Assurance Team Lead in assigning Quality Control Analysts to various projects as well as delegating work assignments. Oversees obtaining and scheduling appropriate on/offshore test resources.
Actively participates in the development of junior level staff.
May assist the Quality Assurance Team Lead in job growth and career development of staff members by providing training/progression plans, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
Works with occasional supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years Computer Science related field or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 10 years higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 6 years Computer Science.

Experience utilizing the application/system(s) being supported preferred.
Working knowledge of both project and test life cycles.

Experience with the skills, application(s), and functions of the business line being supported is encouraged.

Good understanding of the application/system(s) being supported with good knowledge of interfacing/integrated applications.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Solid PC skills with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Asserts ideas, encourages teamwork, and acts as a role model within the organization.

Good understanding of SDM/PMM/SOX where applicable.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.

Able to evaluate situations, articulate ideas, and develop alternative recommendations both verbally and in written form.

Excellent time management and organizational skills; detail oriented.

Possesses working knowledge of project/test life cycles and phasegating approach to projects.

Ability to respond to a rapidly changing work environment.
