Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance activities across the Architectural Product Group. 
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that QA functions are compliant with all required company and industry regulations
  • Manage the document control system including creation, revision, and approval SOPs and batch records as required
  • Coordinate the change control system and related activities
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to reduce the number of defects and improve levels of quality across the various product lines
  • Establish and ensure appropriate quality systems are implemented and maintained, including ongoing data analysis of product and process outputs to ensure early detection and response to quality improvement opportunities and prevention of quality issues
  • Participate in internal, customer and regulatory agency audits
  • Manage all aspects of plant quality systems, including document control, deviations, CAPA, supplier quality, change control, quality assurance, finished product review and release
  • Work with other quality/compliance, manufacturing, warehouse, purchasing and finance managers and personnel to effectively create and support process and quality enhancement initiatives
  • Support an aggressive quality program, which instills personal accountability for accuracy, consistency and completeness for all operations and departments according to contracted and site policies/agreements
  • Create and maintain an environment of excellence, for quality and continuous improvement throughout the entire plant
  • Oversee and monitor facility-wide training including awareness of company quality policies and QMS training as well as maintain training curriculum and documentation for staff
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the quality team, ensuring appropriate levels of accountability for quality decisions and clearly communicates cross-functionally within the organization
  • Complete regular performance evaluation of staff including the identification of development needs
  • Recommend specifications for components, labeling, raw materials, in-process materials and finished products
  • Ensure release of in-process and final product
  • Participate in data collection for annual product reviews
  • Conduct investigations for process deviations and product quality failures and implement corrective actions
  • Track progress on corrective actions
  • Investigate, document, and respond to customer complaints
  • Maintain and improve the level of GMP compliance and stay abreast of industry and regulatory compliance trends and requirements
  • Maintain effective communication with management and relay critical issues and action plans involving the quality assurance areas
  • Ensure the review and audit of completed batch records

 

Requirements

 

  • Strong working knowledge of ASTM requirements and guidance documents
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, approachable, flexible and able to respond to changes in a dynamic environment
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Expert knowledge of Quality Management System requirements
  • Excellent influencing, facilitation, and project management skills, with strong change management skills
  • Ability to collaborate and lead cross-functionally to help drive continuous improvement


Education/Experience

Bachelor's degreerequired, including two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
