The QC Manager will lead the quality side of project delivery, including project standards, constructability, and conformance to contract requirements. They will report directly to senior management and act as a top resource for the company's reputation as a firm that adheres to high performance standards.

Focus:

  • Establish and manage quality standards and QC procedures for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with PMs, superintendents, contractors, subcontractors, and clients to determine the unique needs of major projects.
  • Conduct site walks, project check-in meetings, and design review meetings with various stakeholders.
  • Set a high standard for project quality, deadline management, and employee safety.
  • Run inspections and document findings; follow up on corrective actions. Verify that work has been completed according to contract specifications.
  • Coordinate risk prevention and safety training.
  • Act as an escalation point for issues with quality standards or constructability.
  • Champion new technologies and software to improve overall quality, accuracy, and timeliness of project delivery.
  • Deliver regular reports to senior management on projects.
  • Assist project managers in developing timelines, schedules, test plans, and budgets to meet compliance.

Skills:

  • 5+ years of managing construction, with recent experience overseeing QC and quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of reference codes, standards, OSHA, and construction procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (construction management, structural engineering, etc.).
  • Able to read and interpret contract drawings, shop drawings, submittals, blueprints, and plans.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop creative solutions to construction and engineering problems.
  • Able to interpret problems and present clear solutions to people across a range of departments.
  • MS Project, MS Access, SharePoint, and ProCore software.
  • Industry certifications are a plus.
  • Some travel.
