The team is focused on enhancing our platform's scalability and availability to keep ahead of our growth and improve our levels of service.

NetSpend is looking for an outstanding individual to fill a QA Engineer position. The QA Engineer will be a highly-motivated and experienced software tester who is passionate about testing enterprise data warehouse environments. Ideal candidates must have extensive experience translating requirements into effective test cases, test planning, test automation and test execution.  Responsible for testing and related duties operating within a Unix environment with Oracle based applications. Possesses solid working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within quality assurance and can provide subject matter expertise and guidance to other QA team members. The position will also document and track software defects identified through testing and generally work with developers & support engineers to resolve outstanding issues.

QA/testing experience with high transactional volume or highly available systems is desirable.


  • Developing and documenting test plans, test cases, SQL scripts and automation scripts, prepare data as required; primarily responsible for large volume of data validations
  • Develop, document, and execute regression, functional, and integration tests across few Data Warehouse applications of moderate complexity
  • Documenting and tracking software failures using Jira and/or similar tools
  • Producing metrics to continuously approve the process of building software and the associated artifacts
  • Working with quality assurance team lead and/or manager to plan and schedule test cycles
  • Supporting ongoing work to automate and document QA regression testing
  • Providing effective communication (technical and non-technical) with geographically distributed team members
  • Driving process improvements and tool development to support assigned projects
  • Supporting software applications/operating systems, as well as manage multiple testing environments


  • Overall 4+ years of testing experience using software development life cycle -SDLC (primarily around Oracle development technologies and tool-sets) with major focus on functional testing, usability testing, regression testing, and integration testing
  • 2+ years experience with SQL or PL/SQL, Oracle
  • Knowledge of test automation tools, and QA test methodology
  • Must have 1+ years testing experience working a 'Data Warehousing' environment (focused on Operational Data Stores, Data Warehouse and Data Marts)
  • 1+ years testing experience with various ETL tools (combination of Oracle Warehouse Builder, IBM IBM DataStage, Informatica, or any other ETL tool) is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of unix environment and source control tools like Git
  • Experience using defect tracking tool and quality/test management tool  such as Jira
  • Ability to create and maintain quality assurance artifacts.  Artifacts include, but are not limited to, test cases, test plans, testing strategies, and certification reports
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of testing the Business Intelligence (BI, OLAP, ROLAP) tools and Master Data Management (MDM) environment is preferred
  • Prefer testing experiencefinancial services or in a high-transaction processing environment
  • Bachelors in Computer/Information science or related fields required, MS or equivalent experiencepreferred
  • Working knowledge of cloud environment (AWS) and big datatechnologies would be a plus
