Job DescriptionThe Senior QA Engineer leads one or more testing projects. Performs testing and leadership tasks on multiple projects that can span multiple products. Plans and creates test plans and test cases for complex areas of the product suite. Responsible for defect management and reporting test results to management as well as other team members. Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
• Investigate, define and clarify product backlog items where appropriate
• Understand and contribute to the improvement of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Create software test plans as part of a project team or longer term effort with little oversight
• Help define processes and metrics
• Provide work breakdown and estimates for their activities
• Contribute to product level test strategies
• Contribute to testing efforts with 3rd party vendors and partners
• Consistently drive implementation focus towards simplicity and ease of use
• Help others cope with change
• Effectively handle ambiguous, dynamic tasks and assignments
• Work to provide clarity in uncertain situations
• Provide guidance and training to peers in areas of strength as well as general guidance to junior staff
• Coordinate testing with other project/product teams
• Interact directly with other disciplines outside of Product Development such as Customer Support and Customers themselves
• Contribute to standards and processes for the Product Development organization
• Understand and work to exhibit characteristics of the SLS
• Plan and facilitate meetings effectively
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with team
• Proactively communicate any risks, design and quality issues, or increases in scope/time required
• Accurately report on progress on goals to team through effective use of tools and team based communication
• Encourage and embody teamwork across teams both within and outside the department and/or company
• Assist with managing conflict
• Enable others and encourage teams to succeed
• Consistently work in an agile manner and support a culture of quality and continous improvement
• Drive innovation in the quality discipline by researching and proposing changes to processes and tools

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical field or equivalent experience required
• 5+ years of experience
• Expertise using and installing multiple platforms
• Expertise using virtualization tools
• Expertise in platform toolsets
• Understanding competition and product strategy
• Strong understanding of product domain
• Expertise in the process for defect management, translating requirements into tests plans and reporting results to management
• Able to prioritize work activities and identify risks to quality or timelines
• Must be a Customer Advocate
• Understands product direction and competition
• Ability to lead projects
• Strong contributor in cross-functional planning and meetings
