Why we need you?

Reporting to the Director of Software Development, the QA Automation Developer will be responsible of all testing activities related to applications that are used by solar contractors & roofing contractors to design proposals for their clients and manage their projects. Working in an agile development process, a QA Automation Developer at Sofdesk does more than just write automated tests; he/she will own the quality aspect for the major applications we have in the house. Responsibility includes test automation development, structuring the automation framework and tooling, and providing transparent test coverage and results. Daily activities include working closely with developers, product manager, client care and application engineer to efficiently and effectively manually test and automate critical business test scenarios.

As a QA Automation Developer, you will play a strategic role in the development process of our product. You will have to conduct tests before, during and after the launching of the product.

More specifically, as a QA Automation Developer, you'll...

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents with the project manager to provide accurate feedback
• Develop automated tests and perform manual testing for both web and client based applications using best practices
• Write usable test cases and update them on AC change in Zephyr
• Take ownership, and identify, record, document and track bugs in Jira
• Monitor debugging process results
• Develop approaches and strategies to test UI for different devices
• Work closely with the dev team to ensure new features can be shipped on time with thorough test coverage
• Stay updated with new testing tools and test the strategies
• Perform heavy data validation

What we are looking for?

• 3 years + of engineering experience in the software industry
• Experience developing QA frameworks
• Experience with Jira, Github, SQL queries
• Experience with Travis/CircleCI or any CI/CD platform
• Experience writing UI tests using Selenium WebDriver
• Experience writing tests against RESTful Web Services
• BS degree in computer science or related engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience
• You are a problem analyzer and a problem solving oriented person
• You have good communications skills
• You like to work in a team
• You have the ability to quickly switch contexts and work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of AWS and Docker is a plus.
