Responsible for managing the strategic & tactical Mesa Inflator direct material purchasing & SDE/SQA group. Create common standards and procedures for managing purchasing needs as well as managing the supply base for all material and component commodities. Responsible for New Product Launch Support such as APQP, timely purchase order issuance and support of ZF TRW and supplier changes. Provide Plant support such as PPAP, quality, delivery and 8-D concern management with the direct material supply base. Responsible for supplier quality metrics, meeting local, regional and global cost reduction goals and providing input to the Commodity Business Plan assisting with the “local” aspects of supply base consolidation. Assist with the global, regional, local benchmarking efforts with supply base prices and terms of procurement for raw materials and production components.
Abilities: Excellent commercial/negotiation skills and strong interpersonal, analytical and computer skills required. Strong business sense, strategic, motivational, team leadership and communication skills developed by having worked in other functional areas of business. Sense of urgency and bias for speed, with a tolerance for ambiguity. Strong quality orientation and knowledge of quality processes (PPM, APQP, PPAP) as well as strong financial acumen. Commitment to principles of supply chain management. Willingness to travel.

Bachelor's degree in logistics, business or engineering. MBA preferred.
Experience and Skill Requirements
8 years progressive automotive experience. 3 years of management experience preferred, program management experience encompassing an entire development cycle on at least one major program preferred.
Moderate speed with accuracy half of the day.
Easy, occasional handling of light materials. Static position most of the day
